got one, had it years, got a oil leak from somehere near the cambelt/ fan belt side doing my head in
@dahotrod15332 жыл бұрын
Wash it off with brake cleaner, check to see if its coming out of camshaft seal or out of the oil pump. Also check the power steering pump and pipework as they are prone to leaks.

My FL1 has this engine and currently sits at 430k (267k miles) and it runs brilliantly 😁

Had one of these in a Rover 200. Just ran and ran. It did 60+ mpg whether around town or 80 mph on the motorway. Drive it in the torque band and it sipped fuel.

With the benefit of hindsight, I'd say reliability wise they were a better bet than the later BMW Td4 motor...

In that case, I'm scrapping my FL1 ASAP then, that has the Td4 motor in it. You have me worried now. I think I would have been better off investing in a FL1 with the K-Series 1.8 😟

Had a 200sdi that I bought as a banger expecting to get 1 year out it, paid scrap price for it. She ran for 7years, utterly bulletproof. Only dying when she needed a clutch ,4tyres and an MOT all at the same time. I didn't think they ever put the L series in a Freelander. Thought they were all the BMW engine?

The power figure is poor for a 2.0 turbo. But the torque figure seems decent
