I was very lucky to fit nd on eBay a 24 v Clayton round heater as new for 70 quid. I managed to get the core swapped into my smith heater and it’s really good! Rep Clayton cores are 300 quid. Being 24v put loads of people off, but I only needed the matrix. I sold the front cover off the Clayton for £1 on eBay recently. Woohoo!

Well done....Ive enjoyed the vids and have learned some thanks , im 90% through mine now. Taken me 2 1/2 years so far . So I know how much time and effort goes into these , well done.
@rovertasmania70334 жыл бұрын
Good to know someone else going through this. I calculated that mine is in fact a few months over 3 years! That last 10% is hard, usually fiddly bits that makes you feel like no progress. All the best with yours, finish it as I can say its a huge relief to get it done.

Great update. Truck looks great!! Do you have a part number or size of the D sealing? One candle power headlights. Ha ha!! I still have the original 1962 rad in mine. Interested in see the radiator restoration process.
@rovertasmania70334 жыл бұрын
D seal is a Moroday brand, 18mm wide x 16mm high. They have more sizes but this one fits mine great. As for Rad, I wont be doing this, ill be sending it out to get a new core put in, they also fix the top and bottom tanks too (soldering cracks etc)
@conrad14684 жыл бұрын
@@rovertasmania7033 aah ok. Gotcha. I’ll take a look around for that size to try out. I took my radiator to a local shop and they soldered all the holes. Kind of over charged me but it’s pressure tested and ready to go.

@@conrad1468 Yeah its not cheap, for me its around $700aud! But it will last another 50 years :D

@@rovertasmania7033 for a recore sound about the same price over here. It’s worth the investment for another decade of service. 😀 Hopefully I’ll get a few years out of mine before a recore.

Hi bud i have found your seals vid. How did you go with the front vents? Defender stickons?
@rovertasmania70332 жыл бұрын
I used self adhesive foam type strips (I used the ones for house window draft sealing) and stuck it to the vent itself, not the bulkhead.
@andrewk68443 жыл бұрын
what was the hardware store you talk about for the seals
@rovertasmania70333 жыл бұрын
Bunnings, but others may also carry them.
@GH-rr7tk2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate what’s the dimensions of that rubber door seal? , got a similar issue. Thanks
@rovertasmania70332 жыл бұрын
I measured the channel width and then bought the D shaped one from Bunnings. There are a few options only, so pick the dimensions that suit the door gap you have.
