It sound beautiful. I like the idea of having something rugged like this, not having to care about shiny paint, dents and scratches. Though I bet something that has had a hard service life with many miles, is probably not something the average person wants to be dealing with, if they are not already mechanically inclined.

Hi there I have a 1980 series 3 109 . and I can not change gear has fast has that . if I do it will bang when I change gear . do you know why . cheers.

My favourite model of Land Rover (got one in the barn at present). Notable that you had nothing bad to say about it, or you may have been slagging it off but we can’t hear you.

For a vehicle of its age I couldn't fault it. Just wish i'd kept it and swapped the engine for a tdi.

@@TommyAutos sensible swap, mine has a 200 TDi, lt77 gearbox, defender transfer box and stage one axles. Makes for the best series Land Rover I’ve ever owned plus it is strangely reliable (like Toyota reliable).
