My Grandfather James Bragg was born there in 1900. Beautiful place hope to see it again someday.

Great to see this. My great-grandparents were born there. Fortunately I was able to visit with my wife and children.

My roots go back to Greenspond with the floater fishery. I grew up fishing & loved handling a trawl by myself. I wish I could do that again but age has caught up with me and like so many of us I am not allowed to chase my dreams. So much has been taken from us.

And the seal protesters had a steak dinner to celebrate their success.

This was becoming one of Newfoundland's most prosperous fishing communities in Newfoundland in it's hey day. One of the things the sealing scoundrels deceived the world into thinking was the cute and cuddly seal picture. When in fact from the very beginning many animals around the world were prey to one another. For example the lions had to get a meal for the family. They certainly didn't devour their prey in the standards Hollywood tried to portray it to be to the world. So what was the real problem here ? Individuals trying to destroy someones livelihood in another part of the world. These animal activists of the world should be exposed for what it really is in the world. Money hungry scavengers.

Small fish. Constant complaint. Truth was the moratorium was coming. Somewhere around 1990 we were arguing over culling 18 inch fish, the smallest the plant in Old Perlican was capable of filleting.

Darker days were coming. Good fish to be found now, but Ottawa will never open, subsidize the fishery ever again.

They were getting caught skinning live pups and other cruelties. It's their own fault the seal hunt is closed down.
