Its wonderful to see a woman in the field. Much like the Easter bunny, its usually a very rare siting. I'm a US surveyor (I stole @I’m a GEO 's line below) ...I think that point you made on the accuracy depends on the type of job/work you're doing. Locating piles for volume, yea not such a big deal...locating a bridge, that requires much more accuracy and attention to details. I don't think it matters where in the world you are, field equipment is wicked expensive. Keep up the good work, its been great following you so far.

Thanks for the kind words Walter! completely agree on accuracy, I'm so used to landfill for surveying that other work didn't really cross my mind. Cost of kit is a killer though you are right! Thanks for watching !

Walter Terrell every trades tools are expensive, that’s why you own two of everything. All I know is, in my trade, I sure as hell am not going unpaid because of tools. Priorities.

Hello! your channel is really helpful, specially for us engineers who needs information on latest techs out there. Just continue what you do, and keep it up! I' m from Philippines and I will definitely support your channel. Thank you. By the way, your music is a bit louder than when you'r talking, I keep adjusting the volume every now and then, hope you can do something about it in the future videos.

I'm a land survivor and have never figured in the Earths curvature on any job I've done. Neither has anyone else I've known. The benchmarks dovetail perfectly with a flat plane. Convince me I'm wrong.

What.s the defferent between serveyor and setting out ingeneer?
@SheWhoDaresWins5 жыл бұрын
A setting out engineer mainly sets out the building site and over see's lines and levels in construction. A surveyor normally comes on site afterwards and picks up all the buildings etc to then plot on a drawing as an asbuilt :) there is a lot more to both jobs and some cross overs too but just so you have an idea

I had to keep turning the volume as the music would blast out but you speak softly so that part was a nightmare. However, I still made it through, you really don't need the music. I have a question, since a chain = 66 feet, why are ALL tape measured only made in other lengths but that one? Please tell if you know thank you and thumbs up. It seems odd that the 66 foot ratio should not still come in a tape with two handles.

Hey as site engineer you are expected to do some surveying as well such as as builts. Some people are just land surveyors but most do both. Hope this helps
@alexcocota38564 жыл бұрын
Site engineer owns the surveyor. Surveyor can only survey and so some points and lines, where the site engineer knows all this plus has extensive knowledge about almost everything on site.

This only applies to Europe/ UK I believe. Most of the world uses Surveyors for anything related to GNSS/ setout/ total station/ mapping

Best to take the hit on a new instrument or buy pre owned from a reputable supplier.

The music is too loud which is intespersed between the footage of yourself talking. Your spoken content is so useful that, it's a shame the music makes the video overall far less watchable without having to keep one hand always on the volume control.
