- Long before headline grabbing protests, color revolutions, armed conflicts and even war, the US spends years laying the ground work to politically capture a targeted nation;
- Part of this process involved building up cadres of indoctrinated young people through fellowships and scholarships who eventually work their way into a targeted nation's media, political system, and academia;
- The US maintains a large number of programs including its various "Young Leaders Initiatives" folding young people into Western personal and professional networks as well as providing funding for starting pro-Western political, media, and educational organizations;
- These cadres eagerly serve Western interests at the expense of their own nation's sovereignty and best interests as a means of maintaining their place within the personal and professional networks they were included in through such "exchanges;"
- Nations can combat this interference by creating their own pipelines through sovereign educational systems, producing journalists, political leaders, administrators and professors who work for their own nation's best interests, culture, and values;

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. Marcus Tullius Cicero

Like the other guy said interests is a better deal than values, the West has no real values. They’ll behind any evil if it gets them closer to their actual goal. @@MnemonicCarrier , You can find all "western values" in the manifesto of the private central bank, money creators, if you can get into the vault of the Bank of England or the other off shoots. All the "values" are within the "interests" of the money creators. From this everything flows like monopoly ownership of the Media for propaganda, monopoly ownership of the economy so as to serve only the profits of the bankers and corporations. Ownership of the military (but funded by the public) for profitable wars.

A singular lesson in why History as a subject has been either systematically down graded or perverted by those who would re write history to suite their own narratives! When did an imperial power ever hesitate to interfere anywhere it considered it's interests to be involved, and eventually there comes to be nothing in which it's interests are not involved.
@ragabara1031
@ragabara1031 26 күн бұрын
Imperial China. Not that the imperial court and the bureaucracy didn't interfere where they believed themselves to have interests, but because their very conception of the world put the imperial court at its centre, they would always think about matters geographically closer to them before making decisions about more distant places. Also the Chinese tributary system was unlike the liege-vassal system adopted by the West. For them, the premise for suzerainty wasn't the projection of hard power - hegemony within the world order was the consequence of the Emperor being the Son of Heaven. Since the Emperor had to be benevolent toward his subjects, and there was never a shortage of close matters for government officials to handle, the Chinese state was usually satisfied with regular acknowledgments of the Emperor's supremacy by tributaries who presented gifts and submitted to rituals, upon which the Emperor had to return several times the equivalent in treasures to demonstrate his benevolence and superiority. Due to this most so-called Chinese vassal states were practically independent. This clashed with the Western order when it expanded into the Sinosphere. In fact the borders of the Chinese empire are blurry because theoretically there was no end to the concept of All Under Heaven, and in reality tributaries or border governates of the Chinese state could themselves be vassals of another power, or see themselves as fully independent. You can see this contradiction manifest in places like Ryukyu and Tibet. The imperial Chinese system was inherently incompatible with the Westphalian international system with their strictly-defined borders, but because the Qing dynasty was party to treaties with multiple members of that international system, establishing widespread legal recognition of the Chinese state, and since some subsequent non-Chinese claimants to parts of former Qing-claimed territory were not, the succeeding Chinese republics (the ROC followed by the PRC) have been recognized to hold sovereignty over places where the Qing perceived themselves to hold sovereignty over, even if in practice that sovereignty was little more than a ritual exchange.

It's a kind of *mental colonization.* The colonizer not only colonize territory, but in the process they also *colonize the minds* of local people. Even after the colonizer left, the local people's minds may remain enslaved and loyal to their former masters. Examples include Philippines and even Hong Kong.

As a Filipino I can assess this situation is 100L% facts. Just look on my country's movie industry alone the protagonists usually are fair skinned with European blood running through their veins. Supporting actor meanwhile are used as laughingstock usually are native brown Filipinos. In political aspect you can tell majority of Filipinos still think of Russia as a Communist country. When you tell them that Russia is no longer a Communist country they're going to insult you down to your very character as a person. In fact I'm educating the people here that the real reason why the Philippines faces too many issues is because that the government here is working only for the interest of the few, specifically towards the US imperialism and the oligarchs.

Brigitte L Jones. This series is very timely for me to revise what you have covered and mostly to show my family you as a credible person covering the topics you do, using western published sources. Largely from the US, some from the UK & occasional EU articles, describing what they plan, or have done, in regard to their goals - which is to control and subordinate other countries for their (imperial) advantages. My family were assuming I must be influenced by Chinese materials or Russian propaganda to have formed the kind of "discrepant perspectives" I hold, being so different from their views, which are strongly aligned with Western mainstream media.

You're right Brian. I have a couple of friends who went directly to Washington to follow the young leaders program. They came back all democratically brainwashed. But you're not totally accurate. They pick intelligent people as well, but greedy and ambitious ones. Those who believe leadership is a transfered skill. Those who believe that through leadership courses they will get into politics or become successful business man. One of my friends who went for that program was actually already a commercial pilot. The others were mostly already working in various positions within our government. One started a business where he trains people in leadership. Last week a new cohort left for Washington. One of the kids in the group is someone I know. He's full of it. For the past 10 years he's been trying to venture into several types of businesses unsuccessfully. He's literally a con..

Well done,this is extremely good. The British did this in Ireland of course and it worked to a degree but in the end it’s temporary because it attacks the culture of the country and that brings a reaction. Also because it’s designed to serve a foreign power which by its nature will clash with the interests of the country over the longer time.Here there was an outright attack on Gaelic culture heavily centred on the language which worked but the reaction to that brought the Gaelic Revival reflected in the Arts and in the accentuation of a Gaelic Identity. I’m not sure who said they failed because our Gods were older than their’s. But you are bang on, this is how they do it.

BRIAN: The Grayzone did an excellent interview with Olga Baysha (search: Zelensky - Pinochet - Celebrity Populist) about her experiences in Ukraine as an NGO student activist: “In the overwhelming majority of cases, we were young ambitious people without any journalistic education or life experience. What united us was the desire to westernize, a lack of understanding of societal contradictions characterizing the post-Soviet transition, and deafness to the concerns of working people who opposed reforms. In our eyes, the latter were ‘retrograde’: they did not understand what civilization was about. We saw [our]selves as a revolutionary vanguard and chosen progressive reformers. It is we-media workers-who created a favorable environment for Ukraine’s neo-liberalization, presented as westernization and civilization, with all disastrous consequences for society they brought. Only years after, I realized this.” FYI

Thank you very much for this informtion; it´s extremely veluable. Now I understand, why, when I was studying, my teachers and peers dispised European-German traditional (so-called classical) music, and admired all things American: Germany is culturally colonized by the US to it´s core. Eventually, my collegues came to hate me, because I refused to do as they did. I refused to de-root myself from my musical ancestery. So I became a lonely, but proud composer... let´s see what happens next, since things become increasingly weird in "good-old" Europe.

I agree with most of the comments, I myself went with an international scholarship decades ago. I studied high school there, I agree that the US educational system studies mostly anglo and EU cultures and the rest of the world history and culture is studied briefly. That's why I understand the real meaning and purpose of NGOs and religious associations and scholarships. Is a new kind of conquering and destroying other cultures.

you can not blame them,blame the government and the leaders of those countries. alleviate the economic conditions in your countries. and also, that is the power of the US dollar. An american employee in McDonald in the US (correct me if I am wrong) gets at least 14 dollars an hour. In those countries, working with the same franchise,doing the same job, they only get prolly 1 dollar an hour. for the same effort, 14 times the renumeration. so who would not want to go ?
