✈Landing & Takeoff in the heavy snow @New Chitose airport rwy01R(新千歳空港)

生ｺﾝﾎﾟｲﾝﾄにて。
01Rの除雪が終了後しばらくして今度は01Lの除雪へとなったところで、朝方の状況よりは幾分よくなり明るさも好転しました。
01Rで見る離陸は迫力があります。
必ず交互に除雪が入りますので待ちましょう。
また着陸時のリバーサーも見ものです。
JALB777が離陸したところでB787の離陸はあきらめ美々駅へ徒歩で！膝まで隠れる雪の中、車道しか除雪されていない道を、車を避けつつ歩くのはきつかったです。

I thought ATR's were banned in cold weather regions, as they have unreliable deicing systems. It may also be that they are only banned in US.

ATR's are quite rare to find as passengers planes in the US these days particularly do to the deicing system matter in fact the last one i seen one up in person was quite a while ago

I think ATR were banned too as long as the plane in the video is actually a Saab Q400 and not an ATR.

This was a great video and fun to watch. Thanks for posting it. With that said I cannot help but think that if that type of snow storm was in the USA and that this was an American airport they would have shut down and not flown at all. The American public would have screaming how unsafe it is and that the snow was being racist because it was white! All I will say is bless the Japanese for showing how flying is really done! My hat is off to you guys.

You should NEVER take-off in snow as the engines can suck in a load of snow and shut themselves down due to the cold weather and ice.
