I did the same landing yesterday morning, having forgotten about that hurricane. I had a month of break from MSFS and thought wow, I’m shit at this now. Also very nice to see you on the EPWA EPGD routes which were always my go to for testing.

When I heared the 50 callout so short of the runway, I thought you wouldnt make it haha. I would have definitely gone around there. Nice Job though saving that landing.

About 30 mins. after your arrival, some real heavy gusts started rolling in to the south and the power outages started to rack up. You made it in just in time.

Having gone through this in real life, I cannot imagine flying in what I experienced. Not to mention, that portion of 1L was probably under water, depending on when you flew it. Nice job! Oh and yes, I'd be that FAA guy that heard an airplane over my house and been line WTF? LOL

I died in the sim the day after Helene going into Nashville. Similar conditions as the video, solid imc, gusts 33 but then at around 2 miles, the wind direction indicator started spinning? The plane immediately began losing altitude and airspeed. I was setup for autoland (that was a bad idea), I disengaged AT and AP but it was too late. The plane slammed into the ground about 50-100 feet to the side of the runway and the plane was spinning. Eventually ended upside down. My first crash out of 250 plus landings. I still feel really bad about that, but learned to be wary of autolanding in severe conditions. I couldn't find any info on the wind direction indicator spinning. Anyone have any thoughts?

With that windsheer on final you could damage ALS lightning with your rear landing gear. If that so, and if it can happen to one of the best pilots, than those who closed airport in real life defenetely did the right thing.

In real life, ALS was lowered to prevent wind damage
