Landman episode 5: Cooper's Story Has Its Own Form Of Heartbreak

The Cooper/Ariana subplot is my favorite in the show. As a military veteran, you hear stories similar with widows and veterans who served with the spouse. Cooper clearly has survivor’s guilt about losing his crew but surviving, helping Arianna is clearly something he does to help out cope with this. Arianna seems to be looking for help but also seems to hope she can find another husband and takes advantage of Cooper. Manuel never got along with his cousin but now is using his cousin’s death as an excuse to beat people up.

I notice. Same in yellowstone. Taylor Sheridan seems to promote interracial dating for white men. Ariana is a latina. We know white men r obsessed with latinas

Everyones blaming the girl but she has a point, NONE of them have stepped up to help her with anything, cooper has talked her through greif and trauma, helped her with yard work, helped her understand the finances her husband left behind, and get a handle on budget etc and all the other guys are mad about is she may have the nerve to try to move on with her life.

She was going through grief and started to see Cooper as a replacement for her late husband. And yeah, she took advantage of him. He just wanted to help her since it helped with a survivor’s guilt, and she put him in a situation where he got assaulted…
