@gordonpropertymaintllc12 күн бұрын
The oil business is extremely volatile and takes someone like Monty who can handle it and think through things under the extreme pressure. Tommy recognizes that they’re in a position where they can sell the company and make their family multi generational billionaires without any risk anymore. Tommy already lost everything once, that’s why he worked for Monty, he doesn’t want to see cami loose everything after loosing her husband too.
@AnthonyBrennan-v2e12 күн бұрын
Monty had just agreed a deal with another oil company. The other company had land that indicated oil.The other company does not have capital to pay for drilling. Monty had agreed to pay for drilling (which would cost $300m) then as the wells came in the cashflow would pay him back and then subsequent revenue would be shared 65/35 in montys favour. The problem is if the well have no oil or the market price of oil drops whilst they are drilling all money is lost. Its a gamble. The question do you take $300- $500m now or upside $2 billion or downside lose it all if the oil price drops. Tommy had his own company and oil dropped in price during covid he lost it all. Now he is advising Monty's wife and she could have $300-500m with no risk, she does not need $2bn. If the company is lost because of an oil price drop Tommy would have lost twice.
