The key to any racing series is to be patient. Chances are, most of the opportunities he had were deemed either unsafe, or he'd lose too much of his speed which would leave him open to being overtaken.

@@aka5he’s turning the kart with the gas and brake pedals. Going into a corner, he breaks hard, shifting the weight of the kart as he wishes (he’s moving his body accordingly as well), which allows him to turn without using the steering wheel basically. If turning left, for example, he’ll slam the brakes hard, give the steering wheel a little nudge to the left and move his body to the right. Then, once he starts accelerating progressively, due to the weight transfer, the kart will go left, exactly as he wants it

Watch how little he actually turns the wheel you can rotate the carts with peddle technique. If you just look at the wheel it looks like there’s no way he’s going around turns. To do it like that though is pure skill.
