For the price point of Harley Benton guitars, you are best off buying a few guitars at once. I purchased 3 a few years ago & had them all sent to Australia for the same shipping cost as one guitar. So I got my money's worth. I ordered on a Thursday and had them at my door the following Tuesday in perfect condition

Yes! Please do a comparison. This one obviously plays very nicely, and SS frets are.a bonus, but I thought the pickups sounded a bit dark and muffled. It would be good to hear it vs a known quantity, in case it was just the amp or pedals you were using this time out.

I have one problem with my Harley Benton CST.... the headstock is thicker than most standard headstocks, so I had a hard time finding locking tuners that fit. I ended up buying some unknown brand from Europe; the larger brands only had (adjustable) non-locker tuners that could be made long enough to accommodate the thick headstock. In the end the tuners I have are fine, but it was a PITA since it's not an obvious difference so I ordered Schallers and had to return them after they didn't fit, then search far and wide for a viable option and hope they fit. Not sure if all CST models have thick headstocks, or all Harley-Bentons, or maybe my guitar was a one-off thing.

I came over an Emerald Green one from years prior when they still used Mahagony for the body, but a simpler material for the frets. You win some, you loose some ;-) (I mean PRS himself doesn't like Steel frets, so there is that), also still with Wilkenson pick ups. I jus tought it very cheap and planned to sell it after some maintenance. The design won me over instantly but at first I didn't like the (PRS like) sound all that much. Than I found the ergonomics so great I started to use it when I was mobile. After I did said maintenance; New strings, fresh string height and intonation due to thinner ones, I started to love it too much to sell it. Than I heard the sound in a mixed setting with other instruments and suddenly the sound clicked for me. By now I also adjusted the pickups perfectly and now I never want to let go of it. Especially since I cannot get the same guitar new, as visually the mahagony vs. the meranti makes quite difference, at least up close.

I got a red tiger stripe maple HH-35 with Roswell pickups, you can pop up the volumes to make the humbuckers single coils. It was $247 shipped to my house. I picked up a new Ibanez case for $100 and it fits like it was made for it. It's a knockoff of Gibson 335? I love it. I had a pawnshop Ibanez tobacco (yellow,orange/black) Art core, the e string snagged under All the frets, had to get it rewired to sell it. I had a Butterfly like the Artclore had built in effects, a friend who was supposed to adjust the truss rod and stold it instead. That was fun guitar. I play it thru a dumpster dived Crate G120 XL with old Boss heavy metal -2 pedal and a electro harmonics canyon.

Lotta guitar for the money. Even the PRS SE's for 2x the price don;t include stainless frets. The woods are Asian equivalents of standards for that type. One difference is the roasted Jatoba fretboard should damp less than Indian RW. That and the Stainless frets will make it brighter sounding. Those pickups aren't bad at all. Magnet changes are possible if a lighter attack is desired via A2, A3 or A4, or swap out to something with the sound you'd prefer with the money saved over a PRS. Notice they also have wrap-over bridge models for a bit less. Aluminum bridges like that have a clear sweet tone. I got an HB 335+ from Thoman a few years back that's very nice. Fretwork and setup was great.

@ND._o5 ай бұрын
The pickups are by far the weakest point of this guitar. Idk why they made them so dark and bassy, they sound so muddy, lifeless and sterile under high gain. It's like they put jazz pickups in what is supposed to be primarily a rock guitar. They aren't outright terrible, It's nothing a bit of EQ dialing and playing with the gain knob can't solve, but personally I found a used set of DiMarzio Dominions for a good price and it sounds much much better with those.

Because it's built in a factory that has the largest "in stock" parts bin in the world at its disposal. You've gotta take into consideration, that every part of that guitar is just leftover pieces of other models built in the same factory. I've noticed this on many Cort models also. It will end up looking like a weird amalgamation of various guitar brand's all thrown together. Depending on the specs, this can be a good or bad thing. No children or animals have been harmed during production of these guitars. Relax IRONMAN. This is a fairly common tactic used for knockoff models, exactly like this wanna be PRS.
@PaulCooksStuff6 ай бұрын
Multiple factors. CNC machines don't need a living wage. China has very low cost of living, so even it's regional minimum wage doesn't need to be much. Thomann have no global retail outlets and distributor middle men. Two chunks of the profit margin in the conventional (Gibson/Fender/PRS etc) retail distribution model are removed. High volume. Thomann are the largest retailer in Europe. They seem to consciously go for aggressive prices with lower margins, and make it up through sales volume. Volumes that give them negotiating power with factories. When they sell strats/teles for under £/$/e 100, including shipping them from China/Indonesia to Germany to you, it becomes less surprising they can do a PRS for this price.
@markferguson37456 ай бұрын
Because China has a debt economy , and has preferential trade deals with the West; they also don't pay their employees a fair wage, and most live below the lowest Western standards. It is suggested by many experts in the region that their economy will collapse in the next 5 years or so, with a GDP approximately 40% of what is officially claimed.
