Hwasa's Dua Lipa cover was the intro to Dua Lipa's performance. She was the international guest that year. After that Dua Lipa did ask Hwasa to collab on Physical, which she did. JYP requested to collaborate with Mamamoo, I don't know any details about why they said yes. The performance with Hwasa always makes me smile, becaus she is so tiny next to him. I would find the last part a lot more cringy if Solar had not swatted his ass just before it. Mamamoo did once cover that song in their appearance on JYP's Party People. There is a Solarsido episode about her visiting and eating in the JYP cafeteria, so there is at least some friendly vibes between them. This was the absolute peak of their popularity. They won Best Female Group, Best Vocal Performance Group, and Best Vocal Performance that year.

Just to add to the above, someone asked Solar if there was anything she regretted about not debuting with JYP or some other big agency, and she said she heard the cafeteria at JYP Entertainment was amazing. Word got back to JYP and he told Solar she was welcome to come over and visit the cafeteria, which she did for one of her Solarsido videos.

JYP has always said that rejecting the girls when they were trainees was his biggest regret. He even asked the girls to come to JYP at the end of their contracts.

I forgot it ended like that 😂 Wheein performed JYPs 'Whos your mama' (the last song they performed) on King of Masked singer and her version of the ending is how it shouldve ended lol Nevertheless this performance did have some great reactions from the idols lol

Hwasa's Twit solo stage was an homage to Joker movie, her outfit and hair color are a clear hint. In particular she replicated the iconic stairs dancing scene...her stages are always superb

I do love the fact that JYP rejected them when they were trainees, but now he is desperate to work with any or all of them. We all know he is seriously kicking himself because of his shortsighted nature when picking trainees for his company (which he still holds too, you would think that man would learn). Hwa Sa said that after the rehearsals for their performance of that starts around @5:10, JYP had the nerve (my words, not hers) sent her 2 pages of corrections on her dancing, telling her she had to work on her "groove" (I believe that is the word she used), and he actually made her rehearse with him again before the show to make sure she practiced, and did better. He is ridiculas, Hwa Sa is a great dancer, and better than he is, imo, with a much more natural groove and ease of movement then he has. JYP also came to Hwa Sa, and her show (The Hwa Sa show) to promote a new group he had. I'm sure that was odd for him to do.

Hwasa was really nice about it though. She just smiled and said how amazing it was that he sent so many suggestions and tactfully demured when asked about working with him again. 😂

Hwasa said something similar about Psy, that he was quite demanding about the choreography on I Love My Body.

@@anonygent True. But I think she narrated Psy's story fondly whereas JYP's was more of a euphism.😅

@@Sight4SoreEyes039 Perhaps not fondly, but in a forgiving tone, anyway. She wasn't even that towards JYP.

it's so ironic that he had mamamoo performing yes I am, about self confidence, with his own misogynistic song 😭 I mean the mv is so gross to me but the performances were iconic! 2019 was a big year for our girls

Why did this happen? NO FUCKING IDEA, I wish I knew more but I wasn’t a Moo Moo at the time. My theory (baseless speculation) is that given that this was also the year that MMA cut their screen time last minute to make more time for rookie groups- despite Mamamoo being a senior group who’d just had the best year of their careers- that they may have allied with JYP who had the influence over broadcast that RBW doesn’t have in order to get more screen time. Like, sucks they were put in that position rather than getting the flowers they deserved, but still- get that bag ladies. Loved seeing all the glimpses of BTS vibing, but also the shots of Got7 being absolutely baffled by their then CEO’s behaviour. Like imagine that being your BOSS and you have to be supportive of this bizarre public behaviour.

Not so sure about your theory about the collab. I know that Hwasa’s original plastic outfit she wore for her Twit MV was an homage to the outfit he wore in the MV for the song she performs with him here. Which is why they had that little segment between her solo and their collab with clips of his old MVs and performances wearing his plastic outfits. And WheeIn sang Who’s Your Mama when she was on the Masked Singer, so they sang that with them at the end. Not sure how the idea to collab specifically came about, but it wasn’t entirely random. Having said that, I cringe every time I see him perform with them here. 😂 I don’t think he’s actually creepy irl or intends to be, but he’s like that uncle that wants to still be cool but just doesn’t realize his time has passed and certain looks and behaviors just don’t feel the same anymore.

Hwasa had that outfit simulating the joker Mamamoo also had the colors in Match because they were the colors of the MAMA 2019 propaganda. You can notice it in the watermark of the video at the top left 😅

The HIP performance was so awesome, one of the best performance from MAMA for a girls group. It’s my favorite song from Mamamoo. I don’t understand JYP. Is he playing a character or is he really like this? For me, he don’t sing or dance very well, it’s comical and super cringe. I’m very confused with him, he is really ridiculous but he make me laugh so there is no harm. I think he really loves Mamamoo, he can see talent even if he is not very talented himself. Thank you for this good reaction.
@anonygent3 ай бұрын
He was a star in K-Pop's early days and became a big producer when his backup group Wonder Girls got even bigger and more popular than him. So that's been his focus ever since, and it's worked out well for him. We should all be grateful the girls didn't debut with JYP. We wouldn't have gotten the fierce and independent Mamamoo we did get.
@moni130003 ай бұрын
I think he is actually talented, but I think his time has just passed and he hasn’t realized it. From what I’ve heard, he was kind of the Michael Jackson of his time in terms of style and genre. To me his the uncle who still thinks he’s cool, so even though he’s really cringy sometimes you still love him. Or at least that seems to be how fans view him now. I don’t follow him, but I’ve seen enough to get the vibe. 😂 I don’t think he actually means a to be creepy. But I think he’s very performance based doesn’t necessarily see where something might look strange due to his age. If they were his age this performance wouldn’t have been as strange as it is to watch. And I given how independent the girls are I’m sure if something truly felt too over the line for them they would’ve said something or called off the collab.
