Especially when most drivers don't know that they can use the lockbox...most ppl will assume it's a tool box or storage box that the courier company access...

There are several companies making these kind of boxes now days. It would surely help if when one makes a purchase ,to have the option of wanting the package inside the box ,and provide the pin then.The pin would then be on the package label so that the post man does not have to remember it.

Our mail carriers can barely get our letters sorted and delivered correctly; the same goes for the local UPS and FedEx guys too. If I'm missing a package, I never know whether it was stolen or simply delivered to the wrong address.

I saw a video where the thieves used a crow bar, first to pry open the gate to the house, then the locked box on the porch. Great idea tho. It will deter those random spare of the minute thieves.

I think it somehow secures to the ground. Those corner feet probably cover the screws that drill down into the porch or whatever.

SkoobyDoo it is bolted to the ground. They don't note it in the video, but if you look up thelandport.com (i think) they say that there.

I've got all different size and shape boxes delivered and a third of them wouldn't fit. Glad I live where I won't have any issues.

SkoobyDoo, that was my thought exactly. Seems like they would've mentioned that it could be secured to the porch/cement if that was one of the features. A thief wouldn't think twice about picking up the entire box and walking off with it if they determined there was something inside!

Who knows the delivery driver? I have never seen them.

Just tell UPS to deliver it to there warehouse and you can just pick it up, free and secure

Uh...but that defeats the whole point of "delivery". If that idea was presented on Shark Tank, you'd be sent home. Mr. Wonderful would destroy you. There is no future in offering people to slog thru traffic down to a truck-depot to retrieve their shipments. We could do that back in 1810. It's 2018... figure out a way to get things to people in their homes...or get run over.

Assumes you have the same delivery driver all the time. Multiple parcel companies and some use vendors for delivery so it will almost never be the same person. A theft resistant solution without a passive drop method isn’t practical in my opinion.

The code for the address is noted on the package-tracking on the drivers handheld computer. The driver just looks at his screen, then types it in.

Linc Qimiq if somebody is gonna go that far they will just pick the lock on your front door and steal your TV lol Package theft is usually a crime of opportunity, people see stuff laying out there unguarded and snatch it up without any effort.

Nobody bothers to pick locks. A prybar will open these things faster than a key.

Or u know how ppl have security doors or gates? U know with codes and stuff....why not just give all the couriers ur gate code to enter so they can come in and drop ur package at the door...I have yet to see a person steal a package while hoping a fence
