I well remember blasting up there in the 70s on an assortment of machines, Velo, Morini, Triumph. The surface looks the same, they introduced the slurry from the farm down there, which made it very interesting, and pongy! My old club, the Saltbox MCC from Biggin Hill, often watched from there!
