100th Lands End Trial 2024 Crackington Extended Edition

This year brings the 100th running of the MCC Lands End Trial. First run in 1908 by the Motor Cycling Club used widely to test the new fangled bikes and cars of the times by many manufacturers. Now it is run to test more modern vehicles and their drivers stamina.
There are many classes catering for front wheel drive, pre war, rear wheel drive, kit cars and a class for specialist trials cars. With three starting points converging at the Haynes Car Museum. The route then turns to Cornwall finishing with the spectacular Blue Hills Mine sections.
Unfortunately with bikes starting at 4am here, it was only possible to film late running bikes, who came through mixed with the cars.

At first I was impressed to see one guy on Honda Cub step-through but then it turned out there were several of them. They deserve a special prize.

@@alxgu198Iwas going to ask that myself. Been watching a lot of these classic trial videos here but I’ve never yet seen an X90 get out of the section.

really good to watch , great fun .I have competed in motor cycle trials and in four weal drive clubs done well in both .past now 84 soon but brings back some good memories

Variety is the spice of life. Perhaps a little heavy with the extra reinforcements that a modern convertible has. Unfortunately for these events All Terrain tyres are not allowed.

why take classics offroad and ruin erm?

Most of the cars which we now term as classic vehicles that you see on these events have been taking part for many years, from when they were just cheap cars to buy and have fun with. Some people buy an old car to fix up and look at, others buy an old car fix it up , then have a lot of fun with it. Not many things beat the smell of mud on a hot exhaust pipe.
