Landscape in Graphite - Path By the River

Here's a landscape in graphite with lots of trees and bushes. I used the regular Faber Castell graphite pencils on a Fabriano drawing paper. But the paper was primed with clear gesso. Virtually no graphite shine!

Thank you for using graphite, I work with it more than charcoal. But, since watching you, I'm getting into charcoal! I love that the gesso takes away the graphite shine, who knew? Great work!

The surface is indeed matt but if you put down enough graphite and burnish it it will become pollished and shiny eventually.

@@MiroslavSunjkic Correct me if I'm wrong, does applying the gesso first, help lessen the shine of burnishing compared to not using gesso?
