Thank you for using graphite, I work with it more than charcoal. But, since watching you, I'm getting into charcoal! I love that the gesso takes away the graphite shine, who knew? Great work!

The surface is indeed matt but if you put down enough graphite and burnish it it will become pollished and shiny eventually.

Yes, but it's better to use a kneaded eraser like I did.

Gradually I am getting attracted with them.
