A b&w masterclass Iz…grey skies and rain no problem Some of the water swirls you highlight as you pan out from your main shots were eerily like galaxy clusters All wonderful stuff Well done Iz Tom

That was some angle for sure but the shot worked very well ! Raffi looked regal with his waterfall pose :-) loved the waterfall images

Cheers buddy oh and he did didn't he almost like a gun dog pointing me towards the waterfall 😂. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Great video again Izzy, well done on that first woodland image, I really like how that came out. Also the final image worked really nicely. Thanks for sharing and have a great week

Cheers Ralph, I'm glad you enjoyed the adventure... I wasn't sure about the first image, the trees turned out great but the lillys were all at an odd angle. I suppose you can't have everything. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for sharing a lovely woodland scene and great waterfall images Izzy. Just keep demonstrating how to deal with poor light and difficult conditions. I'm itching to get out at present, but have been sidelined for several weeks with a health problem that is, thankfully, getting better and I'll be out again next week.

I do hope you are on the mend Tony, take it easy and go slowly. Stay well and have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

So wonderful to get this tute on woodland photography _a la Aussie bush._ So often I've seen similar scenes whilst striding along a path and been a bit mystified as to how to extract an image from it. Loved the froth of green at the base, then the "traditional" olives above. Thanks again, Izzy.

So sorry for the late reply buddy, getting over a cold and not feeling the best kept me away for a while. Appreciate you ongoing support, especially when I am still practicing my 'bush craft', I find woodland so difficult but I won't get better by not doing it 😂. Have a great weekend ahead 🙏🙏🙏

Corker images Izzy, what beautiful falls. The BnW were amazing and the colour images brought out the surrounding grasses wonderfully. Congrats to your great assistant Raffy for showing so much patience and not wanting to chase rocks. BTW, you must be part mountain goat to clamber up to that vantage point 😉

Cheers David, I was pleased with the mono edits they came out quite well I thought. As for a mountain goat surely you mean the more elusive mountain camel 😂. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Hey Izzy. Good for you for battling on through inclement weather. It was interesting to see you playing around with the different shutter speeds of the waterfall. Particularly at your 32 mil end, a lot of of my teachings are ( when on workshops) that long exposures make less difference to the sensor when playing around with shutter beads when they are in the distance, particularly exaggerated by wider lenses. I had to look and look and look to try and see the difference between them. Quite interesting. Your last shot that you grabbed on the way back home, my favourite of the day. That's actually beautiful well done. Regards, Ewan

Thanks for the kind words Ewan, that final shot really sums up the day for me. You are quite correct there wasn't much difference between the shorter exposures, distance tends to diminish detail, which is further compounded by perspective distortion. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Great work with those busier subjects which really required thinking about all the technical aspects of photography!

Cheers for the kind words Juanita, it was definitely a challenge and well worth stopping and experimenting. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

Morning Izzy! trouble with positioning your camera at an angle? then check out Nisi positioning bracket. Has been my go to for angled shots. (Replaces L bracket). Love the result with the trees. What a great little waterfall too - the pattern made by the swirling water was so beautiful and it was worth waiting the rain out for that last image - stunning in B&W. Raffy was such a good boy today too - give him an extra pat. See you next week

Thanks for the tip about the bracket Helen, it looks like a great solution for capturing those challenging angles! Pats duly given to Raffy (although he isn't well at the moment) but all the same he's always so well-behaved. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

I used to have a camo fleece just like yours Izzy. I put it down one day in the woods and couldn't find it... sorry. on a serious note, love the exposure blend at 10:30 keeping some detail in the falls but showing off the lovely swirl in the plunge pool 🙂 we're in the middle of a really strange autumn drought right now. really dull, cloudy weather but no rain for the past 2 weeks and none on the horizon either. it's a weird one for sure!

Dexter has your camo fleece, he’s just messing with you.

Keep the dad jokes coming Nick 😂. I'm with Enrique I'm sure Dexter has it somewhere! Gloomy weather is good for woodland and waterfalls so I hope you are taking advantage. Have a great weekend with that family of yours buddy 🙏🙏🙏

The b&w images were particularly nice though the rich greens in the color versions were very appealing as well. The foreground in the first image I think made the image. It gave a solid base to a complex mid-ground and background. Your gear captured the branches beautifully so that they didn't become a blurry web. Very nicely done.. Thanks for the comparison of the results of different shutter speeds. Beautiful images as always.

As usual excellent experience and lesson - thanks. One equipment question as being well above the speed limit in age with related limitations how do you like working with what appears to be a wired monitor? Any suggestions.
@IzzyAbuleelaPhotography17 күн бұрын
Cheers Bill glad you enjoyed the adventure. I really don't mind the wired monitor, except for the care I have to take moving into portrait orientation as the HDMI cable isn't best placed. There is a wireless option but that still has a dongle connected to the HDMI out. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

great images.. with poor light you can get great images. Been there a number of times.. you need to check out the Ruins.. that's not far from the Falls, that's another drive to the corner. I don't want to give the location on here.

Cheers Nik, thanks for the tip I'll try and get there (possibly won't be till after Xmas though). Have a great weekend ahead 🙏🙏🙏
