I've been saving my money to get to Iceland and trying to schedule it so that you will be my tour leader! I love your videos: so full of information without all the blah blah blah that precede the actual "meat" of the videos done by other YTers more interested in listening to themselves talk than in benefiting the viewer.

Thank you very much for such a sweet comment, Alicia! Are you joining one of the workshops I lead this winter? I haven't received the participant list yet. :)

@@MadsPeterIversen Hello from Missouri! I'm suppose to get 2 wks in Feb off but I can't schedule it yet because I haven't even started the new job! Hah! Iceland Photo tours and I just looked at YOUR website www.mpiphoto.dk/. Lofoten may be too far for what time I have off. Do you ever lead any tours anywhere during the WARMER months?

Hi Mads. Just wanted to drop a line and say that this was a very well put together film. I'm fairly sure this is my first video I've watched from you, and I'm certainly glad I gave it a go. I've visited Iceland as a youngster, and ever since then I've wanted to take the landscape photographers pilgrimage properly. Until then, this video series will have to suffice I guess :) Loved the image at 14:35, made well use of the surroundings. Greetings from a fellow Scandinavian and lots of luck with the series. YES!! Really excited for the new Iceland episodes. Stunning aerial footage, Mads! When you listed how many different conditions you had seen the crater in I was pretty surprised. Just how many times have you been to Iceland now? It sounds like at least half a dozen! I’ve actually been right near this location on my first visit to Iceland. I saw people hiking on the big crater but we instead explored nearby Krafla Crater (the one with the bright blue lake in the mouth of the volcano, near the geothermal plant). The wind was *insane* and sadly the lake was still frozen over, but it was a fun memory nonetheless. Nearby Myvatn Nature Baths were also good fun.
@MadsPeterIversen6 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, the (for me) infamous Krafla crater. Never been there in good conditions. The neighbor lava field is very cool though! I've been in this area during all seasons, but collectively I've "only" been to Iceland four times. But that's around 100 days all in all.

Having visited at the peak of summer HVERFJALL is impossible to get scale without a drone, such a difference to other seasons - we felt like we were on Mars as we walked up the slope to the crater rim. I found some interesting opportunities at Hverir and the Myvatn Nature Baths would offer great opportunity for Northern Lights as well.

Hi Peter! I have started to watch your Iceland series although I am not sure if I am doing it in the right order - browsing through the playlists seems to make sense but I am not sure. Maybe you have a suggestion as to how to watch the Iceland series? Now as to this episode and this location in particular, what I found more interesting is that this location is a very big challenge and with great potential not so much as to make mesmerising photographs but more to improve ones skills as a photographer, specially when it comes to composition.
@MadsPeterIversen6 жыл бұрын
Hi Vitor, there's no real way to watch the series. The episodes is just based on when I made them. You can either use the playlist or just go for the thumbnails. I write the episode title on the thumbnails (beside the aurora episode, that's episode 25) ;)
