Landscape Photography - Panoramas and Minimalist Compositions using the Sony A7RIV

In this Landscape Photography vlog I head out to the local lake to photograph an abandoned boat at a reverse sunrise. Pink and pastel hues and stunning reflections provided me with perfect conditions.
Later that same day conditions were so good I was able to return and photograph some stunning sunset panoramas.

What a great assortment that took advantage of an entire day in the same location. That was a good reminder to think about how directions can work throughout the day and a perfect subject for minimalistic images.

Blessed with not just a stunning sunrise but also sunset on the very same day mate 🙏🏻😍 I love the pastel colours when you look in the opposite direction of a sunrise. I remember Ken Duncan saying to always check behind you when shooting sunrise and sunsets as you could be missing out on a beautiful image. This vlog just backs up his thoughts as you captured some amazing colours in BOTH your sunrise n sunset photos 👌🏻 As always, I appreciate the time and effort you put into your vlogs for us to just sit and enjoy the area with you Colin 🙏🏻👍🏼👌🏻

Very good. I grew up there in the 60s and 70s,the beach and lake was wonderful sandy then until the weed ruined things. I was just there in April this year.

Thank you, yes I went there with parents as a child and it was alot different 😔 I think the population growth around the lake and weed has changed things dramatically.

Such a tranquil location for what looked like such a peaceful day of shooting. The colours for your reverse sunrise were truly gorgeous - I loved the soft pastel hues. And I'm glad the sunset colours also came through at sunset for you, creeping through on the horizon perfectly. Why did you did the pano with horizontal camera instead of vertical as I was tutored, which make more sense? But having said that the top and bottom of the photo has no details!!! Thanks

Kingsley, good point. To be honest, I always shoot Panoramas vertically in fact, the last image was vertically after I changed and was much better. I think I was trying to film, photograph ,B Roll, and was a little lazy initially but changed at the end. Thanks for your feedback 😊
