On a trip to the English Lakes I had firmly fixed my mind on subtle colours, the type I have been getting with Portra 400 using medium and large format cameras. This time I decided to go with 35mm for a number of reasons and also push the film one stop to EI 800 in the hope of increasing contrast and allow a degree of handholdability (is that even a word?).
Sadly the early part of the trip didn't go so well due to my choices and also thanks to falling back on the bad old habit of relying on a wide ranging zoom to make life easier.
The results were predictable with less than ideal colours and many (many) poor compositions. Next time I'll listen to myself and slow down.
