Great series, very useful for a recent visit. The chimney in the hut has now been reinstated. Keep the humour in your vlogs....it’s what differentiates them!

I can confirm that there is nothing interesting beyond the fence at the cutting shed! I walked that way last year then skirted up the side of Elidir Fawr. Great video.

Yeah, I've looked previously on Google Earth and could only see one ruin I think. Deemed it not worth exploring. Thanks :)

Full of opportunities by the looks of it. I like how you don’t waste time and postpone taking the image until the conditions are better. You’re so right about the dreaded line of clag ruining an image. So much potential but good for you to highlight the dangers with falling rocks and collapsing roofs. Wonderful atmospheric shots at the end. Half hour well spent. Great work Greg 👍

James R Burns cheers James. Aye, i’m way past the point of treating my camera like a machine gun. These days i rarely press the shutter if i can’t pre-visualise the final image and if it’ll be worth it.

I'm in Llanberis on Friday (weather forecast looks bloody awful lol) and am changing my schedule so I can visit the quarry. No doubt I will get lost and blunder around aimlessly but this looks such an amazing place. Thank you for these guides Greg if I get chance I will watch them again Thursday evening

Thanks for taking the time to make this series Greg. Like you, we think the most evocative time to be there is when it’s claggy. It can be very eerie with sounds echoing all round the quarry. It certainly stirs the blood. Looking forward to the next part in the series.

really great video and thanks for sharing a location I didn't know about. Is access restricted at all i.e. not breaking any rules exploring for photography? Must feel very spooky knowing your walking in the shadow of peoples past lives. Imagine how noisey it was up there at one point.
@GregWhitton6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gareth. It is private land and there are signs, but it is enter at your own risk. You won't risk prosecution and the area is littered with climbing routes. The site is accessed by lot's of people climbing, walking dogs, exploring, etc.

Brilliant thanks, I'll have to take a walk up there and explore. Tempted to take a hard hat after seeing the collapsed roof.
