There is a tintable (color) acrylic concrete sealer called color top from the sherwin williams paint stores, costs about $35 us dolars. Something almond color would give it a nice warm look. You just spray it on with a pump sprayer.

Hi Keriking, I thought he did ok for the job he is using them for. If one or two crack he can knock some more up in an afternoon. When you start buying frost proofer and water sealer etc it can be heading towards the same cost as buying real stone. That takes away the fun. Martin

That was a great video. I love concrete because you can mold it in to any shape that want. I've subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.

Have you considered using a fan motor "or other 110Vac motor" with an off balance pulley to vibrate the entire mold. I was going to try this unless you have tried it and found a flaw with it?

I wanted to thank you for making such a good video. And also to say I too have an extremely helpful assistant (ha!), although she is a yellow lab, not black, lol

Hi Martin I guess it's a matter of definition. The finer particles in sharp sand are still stone (mixed with sand). I did use some ballast in a stone lintel I made but I did get a few of the larger rounded pebbles become apparent in the face of the lintel. The stones I have made are seriously hard and stable but if you feel comfortable, why not add some

Hi Keriking Sorry for the late reply (prompted ny Martin's comment yesterday). Air holes are a natural feature of the sedimentary limestone around here and I believe they have added a touch of authenticity to my own. I can assure you that all of these stones are as hard and resilient as any natural stone. They certainly sailed through their first winter without any degradation. Thanks for your comment.

Nothing wrong fabricating your own wall coping but pouring them in place is a mistake. You have no wall flashing and no pin connection of the cap to the wall. Caps should also have a drip groove and rebar reinforcing. The less water in the mix the better. Actually a fairly dry mix packed into the mold would be better. Top of the cap should have a slight slope to it on either side of centerline to shed water. Joints should be caulked.

Hi Phil, and thanks for sharing the video. It is the nearest video to what I have been looking for on YT. I want to make a few blocks that resemble stone as near as possible-maybe 14` long x 6`` high x 4`` front to back. My intention is to add “stone buff pigment” so that the colour is similar to natural stone. Phil, is it not necessary to add pea gravel to the mix? I mean that without gravel/aggregate it is not really concrete. Does it matter? Thanks. Martin Dennis,Rotherham S,Yorks
