I do like the changes they have made, and have found that in FS22 I tend to reload less than I did in FS19. They have made it a little bit hard to totally mess up. I would like to see more of an undo and an ability to sell trees you place, just to let me change my mind after a few weeks. I also like, and was unaware, that they had added the new strength option. I hope they continue to make improvements like that.

Strength option was in FS19. On controller you'd hold left bumper down for it

I always recommend slowing game speed down to .5 or real time when you disabled auto save. Because if it gets dark while you’re working….

Great vid! Only thing I would add is that terraforming deletes the field, it may be evident on crop fields, but I fell pray to that mistake on a grass field and had to replow / seed the grass to make it be treated as a field again 😂

I know this is a year old video but, thank you. I knew fs19 had landscaping, I never messed with it, same with fs22. I'm playing a map now that I really like and enjoy and thanks to your tutorial, it's really helped me "fix" a few things. Cheers :)

Little note, works with WASD as well. And on XBox controller, L to navigate, R to Rotate/Tilt, Zoom with RT/LT, Place or Paint with A, Brush Size D-pad Right and Shape Y

Great video, I've only just started playing around with the sculpt and painting tools and this is very helpful. I've encountered an issue when trying to make the basement for the red barn, I haven't yet worked out how to sculpt or dig the ground out so my barn wont sink into the hole. If you can work that out and share your solution that would be awesome. Thanks for sharing.

In FS19 proper mods that had a basement would 'dig' out that space as a byproduct of placing it. If the mod your using does not do this then it seems to not be setup correctly.

There is no undo sadly so its save before you place and turn off autosave during the time your placing so you can exit the game before it saves something you don't want. beyond that its feathering the land around it to try to work it back into the area as best you can.

I gave this a quick try. I don’t have that little controls menu in the upper left corner. I use a thrustmaster wheel and I have a mouse and keyboard. How do I get that controls menu to pop up? Not much good without it. Thanks

No, the video you commented on was base game only functionatlity. They took nothing out of the game with subsequent DLC releases. If you do not have the landscaping tab then ther is something else going on.

Are you on a mod map or base game map. Do you own the land your trying to paint on? The only two things I can think of is 1 you do not own the land your trying to paint on or 2 your on a mod map that may have issues with ground textures. There also could be a mod conflict so I would try with no mods in your mod folder on a base map on land you own and then progress from there.

Like real rocks that are models? You cant remove them from in game. If your on PC you could get Giants Editor and then mess with the map in that but GE has a very steep learning curve. The only real way to get around deco rocks is to raise the land up over them if the game will permit that.

No undo! ?? 😂😂😂 That's as bad as trying to setup controllers ...nuts! I find the selection of different base textures quite poor too, and they should have ALL the different textures available on ALL the maps. Though i must say the amount of plants/ trees available is awesome.

i hate how the new smooth function works because it only pushes down in 19 it pushed down the highs and pulled up the lows making ramps with the new one is a pain in the ass and the "ramp" function they built in doesn't even work.

i got pretty good at landscaping in fs19 this 22 is horrible, it is very clumsy to use and the camera control is awefull and just to top it off you no longer have growable grass that you can place the trees and plants are nice but thats about it

You paint growable grass. you can paint any ground texture and then paint grass on top of it. The smoothing has been dumbed down a bit for sure.

@@FarmerKlein yea i know that but it is still not going to grow i really dont see the reason for taking out growable grass and this camera thing ... its all over the place soon as u move the camera it moves the marker to do things with. fs19 didnt have the greatist landscaping either but its a lot better then 22s landscaping ,, only thing that is nice is the trees and plants on 22 other wise its a fail far as im concerned ,,
