Nothing is better than having ALL your Family together around the same table, enjoying perfectly cooked, totally fresh caught fish! So, being able to go out on that massive boat and have an amazing time catching fish with other fisherman with the same passion as you, and then being able to gather your Family around the dinner table and enjoy the fruits of that trip, there's nothing better! I've taken my Nephew and my Father out Fishing to a location that was perfect for catching fish (local fresh water reservoir) caught so many fish that he had to start releasing them. we then went back to my Sister's place and had the entire family gathered and we all ate fresh caught fish, fried in Butter, and there wasn't a single fillet left over, because they were that good. I can totally relate to your trip and seeing this now I want to go out and do it the way YOU did it and go out on the American Patriot and fish deep sea species! thanks for sharing this video, I want to know how to be able to get involved in a trip on the American Patriot boat!

hey Vic, next time you sear some tuna, try this recipe, its called melody blend from smart and final, coat the tuna in it and then sear it in sesame oil just like your seared tuna, put it in the fridge and serve cold, slice after removing from the fridge. hope you like it...

These are all delicious wonderful fish. This would have been such a fun trip to be on! My favorite two eating fish shown here, and I have eaten all of them, is the wahoo, and then tied for second would be the gag grouper and the golden tilefish. Those Queen snapper and yellow eye are nothing to sneeze at. And even the little vermilion that he catches, we call them Beeliners, are absolutely delicious. They are also awesome amberjack bait LOL

It's nice to see long range fishing in its unique form in the Gulf of Mexico. I'm a native West Coast fisherman out of Southern California, and we have our own fleet that fishes long range out of Point Loma, California, down the Baja Peninsula. We've been using deep drop/heavy 250-500 gram jigs for the bluefin in our Eastern Pacific Ocean area recently. But the "slow-pitch" method of jigging is not as prevalent, around our coastline. Electric reels are not as prevalent either, unless one is a dedicated swordfisherman, codder, or operating a kite line, for kite fishing gear. Tight-Lines to all aboard. Four days feels like four hours, when you're 'fishing in paradise'.

I did a day trip out to pulley ridge last summer. One of the most epic experiences ever we caught a wahoo on a chunk it came right up to the boat. We saw a marlin freejump and a ton of other really cvool shit. Even caught an 80+ black grouper. Cant wait to go back this summer.

I caught a 24" 18 lb blackfin tuna in St Thomas while trawling and the captain told me that they're very rare fish in that part of the world. I also caught a 59.5" 28 lb bull mahi mahi, a 54" barracuda (along with a bunch of slightly smaller cuda), and a 26" 8.5 lb queen trigger. My dad also caught some nice barracuda, some smaller mahi mahi, and a 49" wahoo. It was alot of fun. It was a 44' flying bridge boat and it was $1400 for 8 hours...back in 1997.
