Your hare scramble videos when you got onto the 350 is actually what helped me make the decision between a 300 and a 350. Taking home a 23’ KTM XCF350 at the end of the month! Keep doing what you are doing man!!!

I made this one and thought the course was a blast. It defenitly got slick going into the second lap. I had 1 tip over on an hill when I hit some roots and was to low a gear. Googles came off for me so I could see and rode it out with that sleet felt like needles hitting my eyes in the fast sections. I run my front and rear at 8 to 8.5 this round wouls have gone lower if I knew lol, but had great traction for the most past. Did not get around the pits like I wanted to try and meet some of you guys that run this series. Notsure when I will be backbut VXCS this week should be another good one. Finnally ran the go pro so I will have some up soon just not as fancy as yours. Hope to see you out there when you can.

Great race, sure wish the GoPro caught it all! When I first saw the upload I was thinking "Awesome, this gotta be at least an hour!" hahahaha I have a new 2023 SX-F 350 and I sometimes have your vids on in the background (like when people listen to sounds of an ocean..haha) when working on the bike (or should I say "blinging it out" LOL). Trying to find some Hare scrambles here in Austin Texas.

Good run! I may try to make it over to a VCHSS when the series heads to southwest virginia this year. I wish there were more races over this way. Living is southeast KY im pretty well limited to a 3 hour drive for any race which sucks but it is what it is. Keep the videos coming when you can and congrats on the little thomper!

Man, I’m on the husky, green jersey at your left on the start, I did 4th and that course was fun and brutal 😅😅

Heck yeah, dude. It was tiring but fun. I had a great time out there

@@ThomperBeThompin that course on summer time would be great 😅

Dude, at 26:40, I overshot that every lap! Lol Did exactly what you did. Such a fun race. By lap three I was falling all over the place. Even the engine brake would lock up the rear wheel and put my rear end sideways. Great race man. You were lights out on that first lap.

heck yeah, it was so much fun racing with you out there.....one of these days I'll beat you!

I always enjoy the highlight reels lol this course was insane. Ya'll had a STACKED class just like we did in 30B. Think we had 29 on the line. Footage came out good what aspect ratio FOV settings do you have?
@ThomperBeThompin Жыл бұрын
Lol. If I had recorded the entire race, this highlight reel would have taken 5 minutes. I'm not 100% sure on the aspect ratio. I'm using a GoPro 360 which is good and bad. It's good because it offers the biggest field of view out of any GoPro and a long battery life(usually 2hrs no problem), but it's bad because I feel like the quality isn't quite as sharp bc of the bit rates. I might record the next one with two different GoPro's and compare. What is your setup? It looks sharp.
@SkinnySkinch Жыл бұрын
@@ThomperBeThompin ahhhh that’s why the FOV is so big it’s a 360. It doesn’t look bad at all to me. I am actually using a DJI Action 3 in my last 2 videos. 4k 30fps and the widest FOV it has with the medium stabilization setting

I know you switched over to the 300 xcw now but I still enjoy watching these 350 hare scramble vids. I’m actually looking at a used 23 350xcf with 17 hrs. What hand guards were you running here I really like the look of them. Thanks and good luck this season.

These are the cycras. I actually bought a set for the 300 because I like them so much.

Looks like a lot of fun!!! do you think a more intermediate rider could do these hare scrambles? like is there any technical or really steep rocky stuff?
@ThomperBeThompin Жыл бұрын
Yes, an intermediate rider can totally handle one of these scrambles! I'm fairly new to riding myself and didn't start until about 2 years ago. There are riders of all different skill and experience levels out there. You might be surprised how quickly pick it up and how quickly you advance your skills.
@bradykenney4976 Жыл бұрын
Where you using the traction control function? Is so, did it help? Brutal race when it got slick.
@ThomperBeThompin Жыл бұрын
It's tough to say because I ran with it on the whole race. I suppose it does, but honestly I doubt I'd be able to tell. I think using the clutch to soften the hit and mellow out the power delivery is likely a more effective TC system, but I honestly don't know for sure. Perhaps a more advanced rider could tell a difference.

Did you like the stock sprocket ratio on the xcf? Or do you think you would’ve like adding a tooth to the rear?
@ThomperBeThompin9 ай бұрын
I liked it quite a bit, especially for general trail riding. But for racing hare scrambles in this specific series, it could benefit from and extra 1-3 teeth in the rear. First gear isn't quite low enough to navigate the ultra-tight stuff mile after mile. It's fine for the occasional "hard enduro-type" section IMHO. I think most people in our series mess with the sprockets for these reasons. For what it's worth, I ran the stock sprockets and clutch for the 35 hrs I owned the bike.
