Great video! I’m glad you mentioned the differences in the JD and Kubota. Very interesting stuff. That was a load with those two red oak logs. Not only in weight but you figure that second log was almost 4 feet from the loader arms. Haha she lifted it good, the tires were bagging pretty good on that one though. Great forks too! Merry Christmas!
@khtractors22 күн бұрын
@@Pat2317 yeah that load had a lot of weight way out front. The curl part I’ve yet to reach its limits. The tires were way under aired according to the book. Said 12 psi for no front load which it was at, 26 psi with a loader is recommended. So they should stand up better now. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you!

That's some heavy logs seems like it did really good without any ballast on 3 point have work force 4000 lb 48" forks I've had 7 years they have been excellent handy as pocket on a shirt. I'm sure when you get used to how the tractor works you'll be really happy with it. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy that new Tractor.

Ben, you also need to consider the extra length of the new pallet forks when lifting. The extra length of the forks makes a big difference in the strength and lifting capacity especially with the larger log sitting on the extra 12 inches of the pallet forks.

I'm impressed with your tractor and pallet fork setup. Those black oak logs and the stump was a nice test for the tractor and loader. I have some pallet forks on my Bobcat skid-loader that I would like to use on my tractor, but it has a Westendorf TA28 loader. It doesn't have the same quick attach system, it may be able to be converted, but I don't know. I hope you have a good Sunday!

Good morning buddy. Nice tractor! The part on the pallet fork assembly that balances a tall load is called a “load backrest”Well at least that’s what we call it in the forklift world. I’ve worked for Hyster for a few decades. Take care, Merry Christmas to you and yours.

@dwalke2621 күн бұрын
You’re right on the Deere being heavier in the rear end. Deere builds a lot of rear weight into their tractors, with the way they’re designed. I think that’s one reason to see as many cast pieces on Deere’s stuff. It’s a cheap way to build in weight.
@khtractors21 күн бұрын
I do think it’s heavier. My biggest complaint is the time the loader takes to dump. I’ll do a video on this eventually but it’s so much slower than the Kubota was. Thanks for watching
@dwalke2621 күн бұрын
That’s weird the dump function is slow, you’d think it would be the same speed as the other functions.
@khtractors21 күн бұрын
@ yeah I thought something must be wrong. But I found the specs and it says 6.6 seconds which clocks pretty close. But the Kubota is 2.8 seconds. Every other function is fine on speed.

That Deere is stout. I’ve got quite a few of the off brand quick attach implants that have probably took a ride from China. My experience is weld some gussets on the top bar where your quick attack plate hooks under. Every set of pallet forks or grapples I’ve looked at lack in that area. Especially when playing with logs

You have wheel weights on it, so that's counterweight!
@khtractors20 күн бұрын
I specifically said no 3 point counter weight. The Kubota was configured this same way and it would have needed my 3 point counter weight for this. Thanks for watching
@timelam641221 күн бұрын
Looks like the rear axle has weights
@khtractors21 күн бұрын
Yes and fluid in the tires. But no 3 point counter weight which helps the most with loader ballast. I was comparing it to my former Kubota that was weighted the same on the wheels. Thanks for watching
@THETATERGUNSHOOTER22 күн бұрын
What’s the part number on your wheel weights?
@khtractors22 күн бұрын
Im not sure but they are factory style Kubota M series weights, I just painted them yellow. They weigh 165 lbs each, heavier than what you can get from Deere. I put 3 on each side. Thanks for watching
@ABMFARM22 күн бұрын
Ben those forks are as good as any other of the Chinese forks now days. I have a set almost exactly like them, from a different importer. Here is there weak point, and you need to know this because you use them like I do, and They have bent, In logs, trees and rocks. The forks themselves are rated for 4000lbs that is the forks! the frame is not, and will bend in the top rail and the bottom rail because of the weight and length of the fork and the Torq stresses you will put on them. the forks act Like a long lever, and it will not take much force for them to do this bending. The problem is the bottom rail is only about a 1/4 or 3/8 thick and it is not hardened steel, and the top rail is about a 1/2 inch thick, and not hardened, and they will both bend with ease on the size tractors we use. Especially if you are getting under a log and hit a rock or stump and push with the tractor to get under it. Also another good way to bend them is tilting them down and having the load at the end of the 45 inch forks, like trying to get under something just get it up enuff so you can get the fork under it (Frozen to ground logs come to mind here) they will bend really easy, and it is a real pain to try and get the rails bent back to halfway operational condition, one fork will be higher than the other or vice versa, and sliding them to adjust them gets almost impossible after you bent that top rail (been there and deal with that). Good general forks, just realize they are not as heavy duty as advertised.
@khtractors22 күн бұрын
Yeah I’ll still use my other forks for the rough work and save these mostly for pallet stuff. Thanks for watching
