I've spent 15 years buying and selling amplifiers and pedals that never quite convinced me. I finally bought the IRT-Studio and for the first time in my life I am happy with my sound. With all of them: the clean (which I use with a TS-9 for blues sounds), distorted (a beautiful crunch) and the lead (with which I practice my metal licks). The only thing I added in the effects loop is a Hall of Fame Reverb by Tc-Electronics. There is all my rig. I do not need anything else. If someone is thinking of buying it, feel free to ask me any questions. I love this amp!

Hi, how good are the eq knobs? they seem a little weak. Greetings :D

i want to know about his eq, cuz i looking at the 50th anniversary version that i found it for a very good deal. im waiting for ur comments :D
@marinotomas5 жыл бұрын
@@micaelmachucaberrios7390 If your question points to the construction, the knobs are solid and strong. You do not have to worry about that aspect. As for the sound, the EQ is very flexible and shapes the tone very naturally. I use all know at 12 o clock, so I dont rely too much on the eq. Worth saying that the changes are subtle when moving the eq knobs. Do not expect radical changes of the tone. For me, thats a pro, not a con

I picked up one of these a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. It's one of the most versatile amps I've ever owned, but at 15 Watts it just can't cut through my band in live situations. That's ok for me as it makes a fantastic addition to my practice studio!
@leftyfusion884 жыл бұрын
Mic your cab or run direct into the PA. It's plenty loud for you to hear yourself on a small stage or rehearsal. Or add a power amp and run direct to that. That's been my dilemma as well.

I think the guy in the video doesn't do this head justice. It sounds great through a 2x12 or 4x12 cabinet. He is running direct with bad tone settings on the head. Also using a thin and bright sounding ESP strat-type guitar. Although it did sound good on the clean channel in this video.

I have the Ironheart 15w head+cab combo (GREAT!) and it’s basically one channels worth of this. It, too, has a Tone knob in addition to the EQ, and, for what it’s worth, it’s really more there to adjust the overall amp settings to a certain change in room acoustics. It’s a global thing and more something to adjust IF you need it. At least, that’s been my experience. Hope this helps.

Hi, do you think the Laney IRT studio would be powerfull enough on the clean channel for a live rock band? I would like it to use in combination with a Line 6 Helix rack, and so i need a clean tone for the simulations of the Helix. Friendly regards, Steve.
@germanemigrant58447 жыл бұрын
I belive a rack poweramp like a mesa 20/20 would be better for that use. That said i have owned this amp for 2 years and as a standalone unit its fantastic. Not planing on geting rid of it in looong time. Never struggled with volume.

Got this sucker. Needs the right cab and a change of some of the tubes to turn it from merely good to amazing. Recommend celestion V30 based cabs with this, but strangely enough not laneys own IronHeart cabs. They sound rubbish until you change the drivers
@mjw25a19 жыл бұрын
I'm running a JJ 12ax7in v1, CVC 12AX7 in v2, Brimar CV4035 in the PI, and Reflektor 6p14p-ev for the power tubes. Great for rock, blues and country. I don't play metal so can't comment on that
@mjw25a19 жыл бұрын
Always a good start. I replaced the drivers in the IRT212 cab with Celestion Vintage 30's too, makes a bigger difference than tube choice anyway

No, not the cab sim. The Laney IRT212 cab. It's a 2x12 cab which comes with custom 80W Laney drivers. Very dry sounding stock.

I actually didnt like this amp to much with my v30 speaker loaded orange cab, it was quite harsh. Much preffered it with greenbacks or even the cheaper celestion 70/80's (the old english ones).

+AnotherEpicName What Josh said is correct, but what he described is made unnecessary by the Laney's built-in USB reamping interface. With this Laney, all you need is a free USB port and some recording software: Audacity is a basic open source program, whereas proprietary digital audio workstation programs also have free versions-Studio One Prime is an example.
