A very versatile amp imo, decent cleans and robust crunch underneath what this amp is known for - a brutal metal tone! Nice EQ that you can scoop or make mid prominent with both sounding good.

Just got a used IRT15H-2 from guitar center. Really happy with the amp. I did pay a bit more at $350. I like how the second version is more like a regular head. The original version was neat though with its form factor and carrying bag. I own a few budget heads and this might be my favorite of the lot. Also the “

OGJ, I really like you go into depth on all of your videos. Tech specs, tones and your opinion. I have the same model. I use it with the Laney Black Country Customs, TI Boost. Great Black Sabbath sounds. I look forward for your next videos. Thanks for keeping it honest. Craig...

Thanks Craig, will do \m/ Guitar Jon uses that Laney Black Country drive a bit on his Sonic Studio channel. Guess I’ll have to try one out.

@@oldguyjammin9732 By the way, I see you have a new toy. Is that an IRT 30? When can we see a review?

@@craigsavickislivefromsunny4000 - the IRT30 has a lot to offer and will take me a while to really get to know it and figure out how best to highlight it. I find it surprisingly good, somewhat Marshall like with a hint of Engl tightness. It’ll be a few weeks but a review is coming for sure \m/

As far as I notice the amp have a headphones output, it is possible to use it without a cab for home practice? Thanks nice demo!

You do not need a cabinet hooked up when using the head phone out jack. www.manualslib.com/manual/523808/Laney-Ironheart-Irt15h.html?page=12#manual

I know it's an old post... But I am wondering if you figured out how to deal with the "fx loop insert muting the preamp signal" issue... Can't just simply use a delay or chorus padel in the loop because it will cut all the preamp signal out...

Sorry, not aware of the issue. I’ve since sold several amps and recently picked up a SLO30. Can you use use a patch cable?

How are you doing the Marshall dimed at home? Attenuator?
@oldguyjammin97323 жыл бұрын
Hey Macaroon - re the DSL20 with the master half way up it sounds great and nestles in right around 90 dB, with the master up to 3:00 the dBs go up to about 104 which is pretty loud but sounds great and according to my Mesa manual I can play a good hour or so without hearing loss, lol. It’s really quite a bit lighter and easier to move around than the 40 and honestly I’m thinking it just sounds better for some reason. The reverb is better for sure. A couple of weeks ago I hooked up with a drummer/bass player and while the little dsl5 (pushed with The Killing Floor) held its own it would’ve been nice to have that little extra that the 20 provides. When I review it I’ll put some ear plugs in and we’ll see how loud it is ‘dimed’. I guess you’re referring to my comment that the 20 is nice because you can dime it..? I should have been clearer and just said ‘get the master properly in play’ :)
