The Master at work! Another great video Jim, ICAN really nailed the build on this wheelset. I'm coming up 1 year on my ICAN FL50 wheels, still smooth and fast and looking as new. Rear wheel out of true slightly but entirely reasonable with terrible UK roads and I'm 95kg... Really love ICAN, not sure they are shipping from EU warehouse to UK now because of Brexit... Ordering from China warehouse doesn't work because of shipping costs which is a shame. I would have ordered Aero 40 if it wasn't for this. Take care out there, best wishes for lots of happy rides 🚲

Yoooo, that looks like a wheelset that will stay true even if severly abused with trail/enduro riding. The chunky weight and the ashtonishingy even tesion will make up for a durable wheel

Thanks for watching and the comment, Groove. Yes, I think they're going to be durable and reliable wheels, too. The only thing - which I say in the video - is that with all carbon rims, road and MTB, I tell riders to try to avoid bottoming out tires and smacking the rims against anything with too much force. Carbon is super strong but it doesn't like focused extreme sharp impacts. With the right tire pressure and by avoiding really hazardous terrain, they should last a long time and ride great, too. ive the same wheels on an ICAN p9 frame build that i just finished, seem very strong as does the frame, hopefully my 105kg weight doesnt destroy them :)

Hi Jim, would love to get your opinion if these are really an upgrade over my dt Swiss m1900. I would of thought that carbon would be much lighter than my budget alloy rims?

Thanks for watching and the question, B. These ICANs are not their lightest wheels. They’re built more for durability. If your wheels are lighter they probably climb a little better. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the review. The things I was really interested in knowing were things like whether there was vertical or lateral flex, how many points of engagement on the hub and how the rims held up to spirited riding and small rock strikes.

I recommend watching both of my videos to get the whole picture. I can tell you there are tough wheels ready for serious abuse. yehh if you crack a carbon rim it can kill you ,saw a nasty injury were it delaminated, split and shot over out the dropper bar ripping inside of the guys thigh tore all his leg open another centimetre would ve ripped main artery and he would ve bled to death ,reckon the wheel got damaged on a kerb or hole on the road previous ride maybe but wheel split and was like a sword tearing into flesh

@@JimLangley1 i would nt put any carbon parts on a bike steering stems snap ,forks snap at the yoke mind the guy that tried to beat downhill speed record first run on metal forks perfect nearly 90 mph second to go faster duhh carbon forks half down at 70 mph they snapped at yoke nearly died broke every bone on his body,,,,,,i think carbon best for velodrome racing smooth surfaces ,carbon doesn't bend just snaps like candy too dangerous
