You are right. It’s so cool how Easy Grammar picks out the prepositions first. Such a unique and helpful approach.

Thank you for sharing! We’re using many of the same resources! IEW, CLE Reading, AAR… I’m still deciding between CLE LA and Easy Grammar for my upcoming 6th grader. Glad you mentioned word ladders too! Used them a few years ago and enjoyed them, time to bring them back I think!
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
We love CLE! Eager to try AAR. And easy grammar has been amazing for our family, but of course it doesn’t include many of the components that CLE LA includes-spelling, handwriting, sentence diagramming… thank you so so much for watching!

Your little one stole the show! We use IEW and love it! I keep going back to view CLE, but haven't purchased it yet for my 6th and 7th graders.

Sorry for the slow reply. Didn’t see this comment until now. I think our 2 year old tries to still the show. Lol. What subjects in CLE are you considering? We love LA and reading. We have tried Bible, art, and social studies as well.

It is the season and we are looking at different curriculums together as I want my older kids to help me decide what they are using!!! I’ve not got things figured out yet!!! We don’t use a reading curriculum unless it’s to teach reading!!! We love using books for learning!!! I wish we could get rid of a spelling problem but my older kids struggle with spelling!!! My kids don’t enjoy the readers In TGTB!!! As we use books for other subjects I allow them to read other fiction books as they are reading a lot!!! We love AAR!!! I bought it for my older kids who struggle with reading and my youngest loves it!!!
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
TGATB didn’t work for us either. Glad to hear AAR is good. I keep thinking it could mean a lot of teaching and time on my part but I’m excited. Instead of a reading program, did you or do you do anything literature based?

Thank you for the recommendation of CLE for reading. Abeka stopped making the reading and comprehension sheets at 7th grade. We love The Fallacy Detective!
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
So far, we have loved CLE reading without fail. Never tried abeka reading and comprehension. I’m sure it’s fantastic. I just couldn’t get myself to try a lot of the boxes curricula possibly because of the initial sticker shock. Lol. I’m excited to get into the fallacy Detective! Can’t wait to hear how all your materials go!

Yay!! Makes me more excited for iew. I go back and forth because we’d have 2 kids doing level A and one kid doing level B. And that’s a lot of time spent just on the lectures. Have you tried any other writing programs? Wondering what you think about them. I was considering EIW as well.

Is the Fallacy Detective neutral or secular? Or does it have Christian content? Thanks for sharing all of your pics!
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
Hi! From what we’ve tried of the Fallacy Detective, so far it’s neutral. There isn’t any Christian related content in the program. I’ll try to do a review once we get rolling.

It’s pretty awesome and plus anything free, I’m all for. There are so many programs I want to try out there, but when it comes down to it, it’s usually the cost that gets me. I feel like there are so many great free resources that I don’t feel the need to always spend.

My son really liked Fix It grammar but needed too much help and it didn’t go in depth. I think it will pair really nicely with Easy Grammar.
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
That is great to hear. I think that’s why our oldest didn’t like fix it. She didn’t feel challenged enough and felt that she needed more.
@minecraftscientistkids9616 Жыл бұрын
Also, word ladders was a big hit! We also found it to be helpful for students to collaborate if they are in different grades but at a similar level in LA. It was good for them to have a collaborative subject.

That's a lot of different resources for a lot of different kids. Is it hard to keep track?
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
I know… we’ll see how it goes. A few of the resources I added because I really want to try them. And we don’t usually do everything in a program, like we’re using iew for writing instead of the writing provided through cle. And programs like easy grammar and Evan moor spelling go pretty quickly. I’m most concerned about the long video lectures through iew. We’re not used to any video lectures and especially long ones.
@TheChan7 Жыл бұрын
Fortunately many of our kids have become more independent, but it’s still a juggle. And we definitely don’t get everything done in a single day. I am pretty type A so i like to check boxes, but I’ve come to accept that whatever doesn’t get done will have to wait until tomorrow. It’s not always easy with temperaments and younger ones in the mix, so we all have to give ourselves grace. You got this, momma!
