Absolutely loved this video. Well said. I agree that building blocks and LEGOs are great gifts because they are going to bring about creativity and are educational. I love educational things. Every weekend this month we have done fun experiences! That's our gift! That crocheting kit is so lovely!! I love it. I love art kits and things like that.

My daughter says there is quite a bit of reading and some of the chapters are so so good (especially 7-8) and some are a little boring, but overall she loves it. If you don’t have an avid reader who is independent, he or she can listen to the audio. Hope that helps. The layout of the program is very straight forward and Jay wile does a great job tying science, history, and the Bible together.

I find not all resources work for all my kids!!! We love AAR!!! My kids who use a different phonics curriculum use the readers!!! My younger homeschool kids love TGTB handwriting!!! I’m going to use it with my newborns when they are ready!!! We love letter tiles but we haven’t tried the CVC resource!!! We use letter tiles for spelling and use difficult words but don’t worry about spelling in kindergarten!!! My twin son loves Singapore math!!! We didn’t use curriculum for pre school until we had older kids homeschooling!!!

I love these reviews so much. It is good to know that The Good and Beautiful didn't seem to work for your kindergartener. I used Alpha Omega Horizons Kindergarten and Readers for my older kids and will probably use it again for my little one, because it was just so effective. So much in education changes and so many curriculums are out now! Things are always advancing and improving. Seems like there were a lot of "misses" in this bunch. It is annoying when that happens because curriculum is costly!
@TheChan72 күн бұрын
Oh my goodness, did I miss responding to your comment. Life got busy with holiday travels and work. It can get so overwhelming with all that’s out there these days. I really wanted to use horizons when we had first started out because of how visually attractive it looks. Great to hear that it’s worked so well for all your kids so far.

OH wow!! When I was a vintage fashion blogger, Firmoo sent me glasses for free when I started wearing them at 27. I didn't know they were still around. So cool. I loved their glasses! I mean, that was 13-14 years ago now. Their whole logo and everything looks differently now! I do wonder though why they are so cheap compared to when I go to the eye doctor and such. I never really looked deeply into it and should. I am glad that you have enjoyed the experience and getting your pair.

I love field trips! Nature based ones are really fun. One of my friends had a ferret that looked exactly like the one in this video. Their family let him roam around their home constantly without a cage. Eventually he got out and they never found him. I want to go to Pioneer Village! What a lot of fun this all is! We went to a dinosaur thing similar to this several years back and the boys had so much fun. Did your kids like all of these things? I never heard of the Heard Museum but that is probably because I have never been to Texas.
@TheChan729 күн бұрын
I feel sorry for the ferret. Maybe he found his way into life free in the wild. Our kids loved it. We hope to go again and we thought it was totally affordable-$10 per person. If you’re ever in northern texas, holler 😉

Ohhh a Chocolate making factory does sound fun. That is cool that kids get to learn lessons in capitalism going to this place. What a letdown that things were not open there! It really did look pretty empty. What a bummer. I can hear how disappointed you were even while listening. How was it to have your kids learn about dentistry without your professional insight included?
@TheChan72 ай бұрын
The chocolate definitely was our favorite. It’s kind of annoying not getting to go inside to even listen to what the kids are learning. Yes, the kids were doing one handed dentistry with no proper infection control, and they learned the most basic of dental health. Definitely not approved. lol.

We have been going through the program as a family. Some lessons we wrote in the book. some lessons we wrote on a white erase board for everyone to see. But of course if you want each student to come of with his or her own numbers, then he or she may need personal copies. Hope that helps. Thanks so much for being here and asking.
