Amazing! I finally started doing it for Portuguese and Thai. With Thai though - the challenge I face is that "I" is different for men and women, e.g. I=pom if you're a man and I=chan if you're female. And the second challenge is that "you" is different if you address a a) younger kid b) older uncle or a parent c) older woman d) an authority figure etc. It's so complicated.. And also the "we" is different depending on if the "we" is "we as in we friends" or "we as a family" or "we co-workers in the office". The whole hierarchy of I/we/you is making everything so complicated 🥲 . I'd be super happy to see you starting tackling Thai and solve all those issues haha.

There's a reality and a principle, what you practice is what you can perform. So, you will be good at flashcards, your own flashcards. You will get a false sense of security. You will fly at remembering your cards, that's all.

Memorize sentences instead. I am a Spanish teacher and use Mikel's method to improve my English and understand what my students want to say. Because of this method I understand them better and can answer how to say certain words most of the time :)
