I watched this in a lecture on teaching English as an example for behaviorism in teaching. That must have been at least four years ago. But it stuck in my memory to this day, so I guess it worked? (Found this video by typing "The cleanest house in town"). Kudos to the teacher who does the thing with the bow and doesn't even flinch and how he handles class.

Sometimes, we consider the repetitions as a boring strategy to learn a language, but this method can help us to internalize grammatical structures and vocabulary. It is not just memory, it is fluency ( practice ).

For me, it is interesting to see how much the students seem to be enjoying the class although they do the same thing over and over again. As it was said before, this technique works perfectly for kids and adult learners, it might look like a game for them, but in reality it does work. Regarding teenagers, it is hard to do this activity without losing their attention in a large group. One of the reason is because the training is completely rigid, repeating the exercise exactly the same as it is taught. I think it is not a role play, and you don't learn vocabylary per se. What you learn here, is to master your pronunciation skills and to use the language in a determined context without giving to much alternatives (if someone change the structure, the student will be lost). At the end, the important thing for teachers is to be patient and creative.

repeating is a good strategy to improve our pronunciation and fluency in the learning of another language. this video shows us with the ALM we can better learn through repeating by means of the interaction between teachers and students.

I think this method can help students to practice the grammatical structure of sentences and pronunciation.

I think that the repetition is a good way and a good tool to develop the pronuntiation in a second language. With a good controlled practice and feedback the pronunciation can be better.
