In german the word for the day after tomorrow is “übermorgen” which in spanish would be “sobremañana” and in english “overtomorrow”. What’s weird is, that in spanish we have a word for the day before yesterday tho, which is: anteayer
In German: Tomorrow - Morgen The day after tomorrow - übermorgen The day after übermorgen - überübermorgen Yesterday - Gestern One day before yesterday - vorgestern The day before vorgestern - vor vorgestern
@BobbleWorld3 жыл бұрын
Overmorrow means the day after tomorrow in English, it most likely derives from either the German übermorgen or the Dutch overmorgen. I'm not an expert, but maybe it became unfashionable for sounding too Germanic? With even immigrant German families changing their name to avoid stigma, it's not hard to believe that the common vernacular would change too.

0:49 Au sounds like "Ou" So "Au" is basicly "Ouch" without the "ch" 3:49 "i" in "die" is spoken like the englisch "e" and the "e" after an Vocal means that the vocal is spoken longer, so die is spoken like "dee" And no it doesnt sound uncomfortable saying it since it sounds diffrent and nobody draws this connection 0:12 We, the germans have both.
