They should improve their testing system. Testing should have an instantaneous result and in no way they should transport blood samples from one place to another, especially so if the people getting the samples seem to be inconspicuous and not able to show proper credentials. This is another example of discrimination coming from a sporting body that is primarily favoring the White athletes. Sporting bodies representing the world should be diverse and all races represented. Mark Horton is a bitter rival who can't accept losing to a non-white competitor, and he is a liar for saying that no one from Australia and America have been caught doping. That's just a pathological lie to discredit Asian athlete's achievement. Lastly, let's just amplify that statement that SUN YANG will NOT be discredited and medals will NOT be retroactive because he DID NOT test positive in any of those competitions or events - YES - PONDER ON THAT, and decide what's fair!
@alfredzlee4 жыл бұрын
The fact that a construction worker, a former nurse without even a valid certificate and only one trained personnel tried to do the test which is very important to any athletes for Sun is just unacceptable. This was not the right procedure to collect any sample. And those people also signed a declaration that they did not know that they were supposed to help and did not receive any proper training. Now you tell me that Sun will be banned for 8 years for refusing to give his sample to these suspended strangers. Shame on WADA and CAS.
@yannickokpara48614 жыл бұрын
Yes. Surely all involved personnel must have the standardized training or the test can not be legally obtained as it can not be determined within a reasonable doubt that one of the persons without the training will at some point handle any meaningful part of the test such as extraction or locking the test tubes and so contaminate and/or invalidate a sample
@philipk44754 жыл бұрын
There is a procedure already in place if you have an issue with how a sample was/will be taken. If you're too stupid to follow procedure (and by the way the doping control officer did have sufficient accreditation according to CAS) then it's your fault alone.

What happened in short? Sun has been cooperative until the urine test "officer", who didn't wear uniform but shorts and slippers, began to take photos of Sun without permission, which made Sun angry and suspect their identities and refuse to provide his samples unless they can provide documents to identity themselves. The urine test officer was found actually a full-time construction worker. The blood test officer also lacks operating permit. We know this talented young man has a bad temper and you all know how this story ended. Notably, he was banned for 8 years not for doping, but daring to defiance the authority of WADA, who insisted those officers are "qualified".

When you call your coach, your doctor, the Chinese swimming association, and the doctor calls the head of the hospital and other doctors, and THEY ALL SAY ABORT THE TESTING, what the fuck would you do? When the "testers" agreed to leave the blood samples to Sun Yang, he destroyed it, what is so wrong with that? Not just that, his mom KEPT THE OTHER BLOOD SAMPLE!! It has already turned in to FINA so what are you expecting? Despite all of the above, during the hearing, the translator CAS found CAN'T EVEN SPEAK CHINESE NOR ENGLISH!! Whether or not Sun Yang was in any degree in the wrong to be non-compliant in providing a test I'm on the fence about, but this way of having a hearing… they basically rush through it all. They are not allowing at all for the defendant, Sun Yang, to be able to ensure that his statement is completely and utterly his words and expression without room for misinterpretation. They are essentially trying to force misinterpretation such that his statement may be nullified and disregarded. This is no way to have a hearing. The translator obviously does not have the credentials(oh that again?) to be performing this translation, which is obvious by the fact she can not keep up with normal conversational speed and has trouble deciding which English words reflect his verbal expressions. She is in no way qualified to be carrying out this translation and WADA knows it and WADA loves that they are able to assert this power over athletes and/or nations which displease them. The hearing should simply have been postponed, because WADA had failed to supply personnel with the credentials that allow the statement to be given in the words of Sun Yang without reasonable doubt of his intent. That's like finding out mid-trial that someone with judiciary authority or means of undermining the case(judge, either of the lawyers, or the jury) has meaningful ties to either of the represented parties and the judge just being like: oh yeah, sorry… I guess we'll let it slip this once. We don't need a mistrial. I know this guy. He's guilty. TRUST ME!

Legitimate answer - who knows? many athletes dope. Stupid (or unlucky) doping athletes get caught. I think Hamilton wrote in his book that a doping test is really an IQ test. That comes in many flavours - deciding microdosing is for babies and you're going to take a "proper" hit, then having to explain large anomalies in your biopassport; sitting at the wrong Austrian clinic at the wrong time, just to be recorded by the police raid; having your doctor decide to rat you out when he's being prosecuted for tax evasion; having the head of your nation's doping program get pissed that his sister is in jail for trafficking doping substances when you've made 1,400 samples disappear to keep your nation competitive. And so on. So yeah, probably a lot of athletes get away with it. That said, the existing controls probably limit the range of the doping response - which is why Flo Jo's records are still there.

I just don't think he is well formulated enough in English to present the argument himself in English and so the detailed account will be in his own language and it is then the job for the translator to simplify it is easily understandable for both WADA and Sun Yang should he have any objections to the translation. What is appalling to me is that it does not seem to me that WADA made any strides toward easing the translational burden by allowing the prewritten document to be translated to English so that 99% was set in stone and there would only be the burden of translating off script remarks.
@yannickokpara48614 жыл бұрын

@@WanderingSword the race and age of these men is irrelevant. Your comment holds as much weight as this one. "I see a bunch of old Chinese communists with a state sponsored drug program trying to rort the system"

@@paulrawlinson8653 Stick to the facts of this case. Don't go off on irrelevant tangents. Explain to me why they are wrong. I'm here to listen. Don't resort to racial abuse. It's pathetic. Resist the urge to be woke. And maybe you can even convince me you're right.
