Patrick excellent comment at 9:40 about the human tendency to discount things we do not have good ways of measuring. Not sure if this term is known outside the US but we have a name for the same idea, the McNamara fallacy. “ the first step is to measure whatever can be easily measured. The second step is to disregard that which can't easily be measured or given a quantitative value. The third step is to presume that what can't be measured easily really isn't important. The fourth step is to say that what can't be easily measured really doesn't exist. This is suicide.”

For a rider who's 24-25 and been a professional for 4 seasons but only been tested once in their entire time cycling, how much of a disadvantage is this to their potential progress ?

Might be useful if you do races but for most people it's kinda pointless no? Even if you don't pay attention to whether foods contain illegal doses of certain substances it doesn't really matter if you don't compete
