LANZAROTE (Jan 2022) - VOLCANOES and VINEYARDS. National Parks and Valle de la Geria Vineyards

The Volcano and Timanfaya national parks are easily accessible by car, with an elevation of only 350m and are not busy. The Valle de la Geria contain unusual funnel-shaped hollows or gerias to grow the vines in the harsh terrain.

I had been reluctant to go there previously as prefer the geographical diversity of the westerly islands like Tenerife , La Gomera and La Palma. However, notwithstanding the overall barren nature, it is very interesting to explore and visit . Not overdeveloped like Costa Adeje in Tenerife, has great accommodation with no high rises and is far less busy, apart from Puerto Carmen.
