I remember being shocked as a kid when told that the red sauce on my ice cream was made from crushed beetles 😀 Since 2013 it’s been illegal to list it as a food ingredient, E120 being the now accepted term. Thanks for the video 👍🏼

Yes, very strange, isn't it? It’s still used as a food coloring, but can’t be listed as “Cochineal.” Has to be called “Carmines,” or as you say, E120.

Yes, it’s hard work keeping up with them. If you have room, put a prickly pear cactus in, as that will attract them, and leave the more decorative plants free of them.
