As a Lao I'd like to thank you all commentators for all of your concerns regarding my Country. We do recognized that our National Development Paths and Tasks will NOT be an easy one. We know there will be full of obstacles and challenges ahead. Laos' National Infrastructure Development is the necessary Evil. What you're witnessing now is NOT the End Product. Rather it's a Work in Progress. Think of it as a Woman in her pregnancy. The process of Motherhoods are full of discomforts, limitations, and restrictions. A Birth of a Healthy Child is worth all the troubles. Any Mothers can testify to this. Lao PDR is China's Bridgehead to the vast ASEAN market. There is no way in hell China will let Laos fail. China will NOT cut down the Tree for a fruit! No matter how delicious the fruit is. It's NOT worth cutting down the entire Tree for it. Think about it!

Why does Indian need HSR ? thankfully they only have one in the pipeline, it does not make economical sense. HSR in China running in total loss, Japan just about breaks even because of higher income level which translates into higher ticket prices and also cos it’s a small country with smaller routes. In large country taking flights makes more sense if you need to commute faster. India should concentrate on track upgradation so trains like Vance Bharat can run at their designed speed of close to 200 km/hr that is more than sufficient. With India’s cheap air ticket prices Air is the way for faster travel.

But we are in 2024 now and you already missed two operational inauguration deadline. If the HSR is not viable economically, the Chinese must be bloody rich for having such huge HSR network!! As for your Bharat train, its real operational speed is under 160 km/hr. Basically, the train is about 20 or 30 km/hr faster than an older generation slow train. Meanwhile, the oldest and the slowest Chinese bullet train in operation is at least twice faster than the fastest Indian train.
