LAPD Responds to Vandals, Reported Shooting at Oceanwide Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (KNN) - The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division patrol units received multiple calls late Friday night and into early Saturday morning regarding vandals and trespassers at the Oceanwide Plaza development in Downtown Los Angeles.
The calls included reports of dozens of vandals tagging a structure as well as smashing windows at the construction site of a retail and luxury housing development on the Flower and 12th street side of the complex that encompasses the entire block across from the Crypto.com arena.
Around midnight, LAPD also received calls of a shooting inside one of the buildings. Security for the development located several shell casings inside. How about those LAPD actually go out and stop some real crimes with actual victims. In the same way a property owner doesnt consent to having their building painted on, the citizens never consent to having the building put there in the first place, blocking their views, or taking up space that could support real economic activity other than being more luxury condos on a balance sheet. Southern CA needs more luxury condos the same way way it needs more techies and fentanyl dealers.... it doesnt. Im grateful for all the folks out there doing the good work of making the urban landscape more interesting than just a bunch of grey and beige walls everywhere.

On a much smaller scale, this happened out in Fillmore, CA, but on a cargo train. The rains washed away a huge part of the bridge, so the train was stuck out in the groves for months. Local artists sprayed the stalled train, then the locals complained about the “graffiti”but not the huge chunk of metal that sat idle for months. Best part is the chunks of the bridge that washed away are still in the river covered in some good art.

Interesting the taggers appear to be adults not adolescents as one unfamiliar with tagger culture would expect. I'm not sure what it is about the tagger alternative mentality, I guess guys experiencing the "Peter Pan Syndrome." It can be influenced by childhood experiences, narcissism etc." I assume the damage to the building, when some new developer assumes the project, will be in the $millions.
