This trip came together for one simple reason...see an E60 before they are retired. I can't remember if I had heard that their days were numbered or not, but on this cold Monday in February I set out to catch the last of them in regular service on the Northeast Corridor. I had only seen one in Perryville a few years before but they usually spent their last days between Philly and New York, an area I never really ventured to.
So I traveled to the North Philadelphia station, which turned out to be an incredibly busy location. I noted just over 150 trains between 7AM and 3:30PM, and that inlcudes a lunch break were I certainly missed a few. It was cold and it even sleeted for a minute or 2, but it was an enjoyable day! The E60MA's are seen a couple times in this video, mostly on long distance trains but I also got one on a Keystone Service train which made a station stop (most Amtrak trains do not stop here).
The E60s would only last a few more months, as most were retired the following May.
