(I kinda typed this out before I heard your whole view on this, but just hearing the mention of "filler" made me feel like I had to explain why I thought otherwise. There are points you mentioned that I reiterate here to explain my view on them.) Snow Day was definitely NOT a filler episode. Aside from getting insight into how Steven views his new lifestyle, we also got new developments into at least *one* character: Pearl. She hasn't shape-shifted since she staged Pink's shattering, and the one time she's done it since? A fun day of play. That says a lot of how she's grown and recovered since then. As for Steven, we've learned that he's changed quite a lot. He no longer even *touches* meat, sugary foods, or spends time to eat something as simple as eggs before setting off. Getting to his lifestyle choices, he now has a very strict set of responsibilities he holds himself to for his daily jobs around town. He gets up via his phone alarm, no longer using his "childish" cookie-cat alarm clock. He chooses to skip breakfast opting for a most-likely unsatisfactory substitute of a protein shake which definitely doesn't help him retain all the necessary nutrients a breakfast provides, although he may get food later on in the day now. As the episode clearly hammers home, he no longer wishes to be associated with his cheeseburger backpack (we can infer that this also applies to the hot dog duffel bag from that one mini-episode). He now also avoids playing with pretty much any of the gems, nor even petting Cat Steven. Going more into his daily habits: these don't exactly seem the most healthy of signs. When he first wakes up in the episode, he verbally hypes himself up to get up, relies on a protein shake to get through the morning, and almost refuses warm accessories on the way out to his car. He's definitely a bit off in some regard, but I suppose we'll see if that goes anywhere later. Moving on to the Gems as a whole, we can see how they've reacted to Steven's changes as well. They may not see him as a kid anymore, but they still want to treat him as fondly as they did when he was. They want to play, eat fun foods with him, and give him humorous little things to do like petting Cat Steven before heading out. They even go into fusions just to keep him from pushing himself to leave. They know Steven's grown a lot, but he doesn't realize that they just want to play with him a little more before they no longer can enjoy that. All in all, this episode was full of character growth being done behind the scenes that is shown in great detail in the episode. To call it filler would just be a fallacy.

As a fellow kid at heart, Finny; where do YOU stand on Steven shunning away all the stuff he loved as "Classic Steven?" I feel like he's pushing himself far too hard to be perfect and flawless, as seen in previous episodes; as well as doing anything possible to forget the stuff of his past (his mom being one of them.) But there are two things we need to remember in life. 1. No matter how stressed our life gets, we should still keep that inner child within us alive; they help bring us joy in times of need. As Grunkle Stan said, "Just because you're growin' up doesn't mean you have to 'grow up.'" This phrase rings loud and true for me. I've turned 34 last Sunday (the 22nd) and I STILL feel like a kid inside. Even while helping my family around the farm and with house work, I still balance it out by doing "Kids Stuff;" like playing video games, watching cartoons and being silly. Heck; every other day, I make myself a pair of Pop-Tarts for breakfast in the morning. No disrespect meant towards those who DO enjoy them. But there is no WAY a protein shake can feel as satisfying as a balanced, homemade breakfast. Plus...since when did Steven decide to become a vegan? It totally betrays Greg's iconic creed of "if every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs." 2. Steven running from his past and denying his mother's flaws is just as unhealthy as him overworking himself. It's like what Rafiki said in the original (and better) Lion King film. "The past CAN hurt...but the way I see it, you can either run from it or...learn from it." So, how long will it take for Steven and all other Gems to learn the collective mistakes of their pasts and become better...the RIGHT way

@@sadlobster1 Nope. Vegetarians don't eat only meat (so they eat diary, honey etc), and vegans are usually a bit more extreme, and don't eat any animal products either (so no milk, cheese, eggs, etc.)

Thing is...not every adult has to take up the busy lifestyle. I myself have lived with something called Congenital Hydrocephalus since I was 2 weeks old. While it hasn't left too big of a change on my life, compared to other people I know with Hydrocephalus (regardless of what type they have;) I have my limitations from it. I can't drive, I can't cook with an oven (despite working well with toasters and microwaves,) I can't work with complex machines (which makes things awkward when you live in a farming family like I do,) I have slight learning disabilities that cause me to "derp" out in tasks other people would consider "simple (ex. I could never work in retail due to my poor math skills) and I'm forbidden by my doctor to not take part in activities that would result in me injuring any part where my shunt is (the head, neck or stomach areas.) Thus, certain parts of the business world would prove "dangerous" for me. So, the only "job" I have is helping with simple household/farm chores for my folks. I may not get a paycheck but I've got something most adults would only dream of... Freedom, freedom to balance out my adult self AND my inner child however much I wish
