So belly story about how everyone thought i was pregnant and it was an ovarian cyst with 2 liters of fluid n it: i was 16 years old in high school, and was always bullies and people made rumors i was pregnant and a “slut” and then i went to the doctor and they said i had a cyst of my ovary i had had for years, growing to the point where it had 2 liters of fluid n it. They did the same type of surgery where they made a small incision n my belly button attached to instruments and a camera and were able to save both ovaries. N short...i feel ur big belly pain and cyst or no cyst my belly is still my biggest insecurity. Wish u the best wah!!!

Wah, here's a hint for abdominal surgery, hold a throw pillow over your stomach when you need to move around i.e sit up, get up, turn over. That should help a lot. In the hospital we use to tape a blanket into a rectangle for abdominal surgery patients.

The whole thing of fertility is so incredibly overwhelming...and often not given it’s due. Seems only those closest to ourselves know, as if it is a secret, and we all have a story. With my childless friends it takes years before I ask whether it is by choice or not when I know so much about all of their struggles. I have been told that at one time someone who was struggling to have a child couldn’t look at me when I was pregnant; I wished we could have discussed it earlier. I just thought she hated me at the time. There is a lot to discuss. Nothing made me happier than realizing the support of your dad was with you. You are taking hold of your life and steering it as much as any of us possibly can. You must be on the recuperation trail, one hurdle down.....

Yeah, this makes me sad. It is not fair. How did anyone feel/palpate your abdomen during an annual exam and not feel these masses? That’s some « below the standard of care » practice BS. It doesn’t fix anything now, so I’ll pray this procedure will make your uterus a favorable environment for a baby to thrive and develop. Just showing your pre surgery MRI is enough to start the conversation. I am certain, someone has been moved to see/find out if there’s an issue and seek treatment. Thanks Wah. ❤️🙏🏻

Sending you prayers and positive vibes. In 2016 I found out I had about 10 fibroids, the biggest was about the size of a newborns head. I never saw my MRI and I'm so glad I didn't because honestly that was shocking. Thank you for sharing this journey with us!! Hopefully you have had your surgery and on the mend to your happy ending. You deserve it all :)

I had fibroids also. The difference is I had already had my children. I was in my 40s when I had to surgery to remove them. Once they got in there they realized it was worse than they thought. I had a partial hysterectomy. I’m praying for you because I know you want children.

I really hope everything went well with your surgery yesterday. It must have been a big shock to see your MRI, but the body really does have an amazing ability to heal itself. If the uterus can carry up to 6 or 8 babies and shrink back down to normal size, it can heal from apple-plum-cherry-walnut fibroids.

Wah I wish you all the best on your journey. When I heard I had a fibroid in 2010 I was told it was one big one. After that my period got worst and my anemia was bad. I tried to get pregnant the natural way but it didn't work. I had a myomectomy in 2013 and was told there were alot more than 1 and the surgery lasted longer than expected. I also found out that both my fallopian tubes were blocked. I tried to get onto IVF but my chances where under 10%. Eleven months after my myomectomy noticed the signs of the fibroids were back, heavy periods and my pica. I went for a scan and they found the fibroids but there were too much to count. I knew they might come back but not that fast. I can feel them and I see when they grow as my belly gets real big when its time to have my period. Now Im 45 and had to work through my issues on my poor planning and missed opportunity to have a child naturally. I would suggest once you have the myomectomy, I am not sure if anyone told you or you've already done your research but please change your diet to reduce the chances of the fibroids coming back. I think diet as well as stress has a lot to do with those fibroids growing as they feed off estrogen. I am cheering you on your journey and hope for the very best.

Hi Wah👋. Wishing you luck with your surgery tomorrow. I never had children (my choice), but I have had laparoscopies, laparotomy, and hysteroscopy with D&C. Mostly all related to out of control ovarian cysts. I do have some fibroids. It sounds like you have a wonderful, thorough doctor, who will do everything to preserve your uterus, which is very important. Easy communication with your doctor doesn’t always happen, and you have it. They (clinicians in general) have to inform you of every possibility, however remote the possibility of occurring. Take care of yourself and rest as much as you are able today. Sending lots of love and prayers for a smooth surgery and recovery tomorrow 💕💕

You’ve got this Wah!! By now your surgery is done and I hope you’re recovering nicely :). Have you considered the “abridge” app? I use it for my grandparents who are aging - but for anyone going through medical stuff it’s a great app. You can record medical conversations (in case you forget or are emotionally overwhelmed at the time). It helps you remember and define medical terms and share your care with others if you need/want to. May be worth checking out given you’re documenting this process. Anyhow - I’m so stoked for your journey and can’t wait to watch you become a mama! Best of luck ❤️
