@@Plimothy : On laptopscreen.com website you can choose 30 pin HD screen, before purchasing I have opened laptop, removed the screen and made sure it was 30 pin. Also on old screen there was some identification number you can search with that.

If you do this job with the tape always ensure when you put the new tape on you leave some sticking out at the top in case you need to get the screen off for any reason. Otherwise you may not be able to get the screen off without damaging it. You may need to remove the LCD panel for another reason other than replacing the screen in the future.

Actually this is Tesa tape so it doesn’t pull/stretch to loosen so there’s no point leaving any exposed. To remove you simply put some 99% isopropyl alcohol and the screen will come off easily. Though if one is using pull tape then I would agree to leave a piece exposed that can be pulled.

Risky in my opinion. Far easier to use stretchy tape and leave the ends of the tape that can be pulled up in case you need to remove the screen again without damaging it.

@@stebrad123 There is nothing risky about using 99% ISO and if you secure the LCDV connector properly and do the repair correctly there should be no need to take the LCD out anyways unless it breaks in which case it makes no difference. I personally have not been able to find a supplier for the pull type of adhesive the manufactures use - if you have one please feel free to share!

You will need double sided adhesive to secure the LCD to the LCD backcover, there are no tabs to screw in on this model.

It is man. You can change TN painel to ips for better quality. However, i don't know if you can use one with higher refresh rate.

What was the problem this was having that it needed the screen replaced? I have a customer with the same model and the screen is purple/pink from a certain part of the screen downwards. I assume it's the LCD that is bad because the image looks fine on an external monitor.

You’ll need to remove all the screws and use a thin pry tool to gently work /pry your way around the bottom cover and pop off the plastic clips. It will pop off quite easily.

I replaced my screen and I am positive I did it correctly. But when I turn on the computer, it is black. I undid everything, redid it....took out the battery....turned off and on the computer....nothing works. Am I supposed to hold down the power button for a certain amount of time? The computer is working fine. It comes on when plugged into an external monitor

it could be a faulty LCD. Did you make to sure to disconnect the battery before removing the old screen and putting in the new one, you can short it if you don’t remove the battery.

Unfortunately I do not think that is possible as touch screen LCD’s are 40 pin and that laptop only has a 30 pin cable. It’s not designed to have a touchscreen - windows comes with the “tablet mode” no matter what laptop you have.
