Is it possible if i replace a 60hz display with a 144 hz display from the same model?

It is possible you just need to buy a 144hz replacement panel. EDIT : there's something called an eDP pin which means you have to check if the laptop you have has a 40pin connector, the 40 pin eDP video connector is the only that will work with the 144hz panel

HI there, just got the Legion 5 (2021) - Model 82JU001SFR. But the 120hz screen is a bit washed up (45 % NTSC & 250 cdm) and rather off putting when it comes to brightness and colors, so I wonder if you had any idea of a screen upgrade for my model. Preferably to 144/165hz with G Sync or atleast decent color gamut. Thanks in advance!

why do u have to remove battery if its turned off? I have screen issue but the fact that some random people will open my laptop is a bit worrying.

if the battery is still connected there is still voltage running through the system so you can short components even if turned off.

Does it have to be a screen that’s from the company or can it be any screen that’s the same size resolution and hz?

as long as the resolution matches and it’s the correct pin count you should be good.

Sorry can you clarify your question? If you mean why do you need the adhesive tape its because that is what secures the LCD to the back cover.

I peel off the covering from the adhesive tape, you do that right before you’re going to secure it to the back cover

You could count the pins if you like after removing the LCD though if you order the LCD specific to the make and model you're working on it will be the correct connector - good luck! If you want to mail it in for repair feel free to send me a message [e-mail]

Yeah the site linked is def the best price you're going to get for this screen, don't know about other screens, but even with the shipping the price is like 20$ less than elsewhere (like 100 vs 120 so not cheap by any stretch) that I was able to find

My screen became black at sudden, it has no backlight though it is working as display is visible when I show the torch light. Can I fix this issue or have to replace the display? Thanks.

Have you tried a new display? If a new display doesn’t solve the issue it’s possibly a motherboard issue...

It could be a blown fuse which is likely on the motherboard though without schematics it will be very hard to find the blown component
