My 8 years old Lenovo Z510 LCD went blank. I watched this KZbin several times, read and wrote down many comments from you and your reviewers. First I thought the LCD was broken and planned to purchase it from Amazon. Then by following your suggestion I tried to unplug and plug LCD cable to the LCD itself. That fixed my problem. Now it is working. I am very happy. Thanks a lot and keep up with great work. I had just SUBSCRIBE and click the BELL with ALL.

I have a 6 year old Lenovo T460s. WIth the help of your troubleshooting tutorial i managed to understand its either the LCD or the LCD cable. (i attached it to a TV). The LCD "stooped working" one night when i just put the laptop away in the evening (everything was fine), and let it on, and in the morning the LCD was and stayed black. - -> Why would a screen stop working while the laptop was just on, and not even touched? --> Which scenario is more probably in this case (the LCD or the cable)? --> How can a display just "die"? (what is the technical reason)

I usually get most of my computer parts on Ebay or Amazon. To find the correct screen can be tricky. You will have to search for the correct size. Most laptops are around 15.6 inches. Doublecheck yours. Then you would have to figure out what size the port on the back side of the LCD is. Usually 30 or 40 pin. Next, make sure the port is on the correct location on the LCD or the LCD cable wont be able to reach it properly. Let me know if you would like more assistance :)

Hi, i have 2 laptops. One with 15.3 inch and another one with 17.3 inch. The 15,3 inch screen has some black lines below screen that i was not sure if it was the eDP conector or screen that coused the issue since i have reconected the cable many times, the screen only have the blsck lines at 300hz, and i can get ridd of them if i switch to 60 then 300 hz again, but they will be back if laptop goes to sleep. so i tested the screen on my other laptop to be sure what could be the fault at that screen, on my 17,3 inch laptop i took out the screen that was in it and tested the 15.3 inch screen, everything was fine at start, and i saw the black lines, so i knew the screen was the issue. But after 2 min in windows log inn screen, i saw the screen flashing wierd. I hold the powerbutton to turn it off. And i reconected the 17,3 screen. Now on the 17.3 inch laptop some of the keys stopped working and self pressing. Even in bios they dont work. I did not unplugg the battery of the laptop. I have sent the laptop to warrenty and its getting fixed, but what do you think could be the issue? Was it becouse i did not unplugg the battery? The 15.3inch screen was eDP 40 pin 1.4 verison And the 17.3 was eDP 40 pin 1.3 verison, could that be the problem since this looked like it happent when the laptop went into sleep? Or could it be that the screen had powerissues? Have you ever experinced this. The 17.3 inch screen laptop work fine with external keyboard.

Hey there, thanks for your help ! I have spilled oil inside my company dell Latitude 5590 and was wanting you to do a video showing how to disassemble the screen and every layer and clean them individually since the oil is probably on the all the various layers. Seems like it would be possible and even if a few particles end up inside it would beat the current screenshot, so if you could do it I think many would benefit since it is a common problem and although tedious i think it's do-able. I have cloud patches and white patches all over screen which makes it damn near impossible to view without an external monitor.....thanks !!

Recently , my laptop had a hinge problem. And repaired from a shop , but now it has a small gap bw that display and screen case , would that be a future problem ??
@PC_Monkey3 жыл бұрын
It shouldnt cause any operational issues. Just cosmetic.

I've got a Lenovo V15 G2 and it's been no where near as easy as this and a nightmare. Just a warning. The hinge is one long thing and has to be very carefully prised up after working it from the back. Had to give up at the moment because it feels like the screen is glued onto the back - any advice here??
@PC_Monkey Жыл бұрын
Screens are not usually glued to the top cover. They are usually held on by screws to the hinges or hinge assemblies that go up the sides of the LCD. If you could post a video on your channel and then message me back here when you do, I can then view and advise further.

Search 'lenovo g580 screen' on sites like Ebay or Amazon. Make sure its the same size as yours, has the same connector pin count (30 or 40 usually) and has the port in the same place on your LCD

Yes, if the power adapter has been unplugged from your computer, you should be good to replace the LCD :)

Hello, thank you for the tutorial. I just had one problem; when I replaced the screen, the power and battery lights came on but the screen itself did not. I'm really confused as I did everything right, but it's not turning on. I replaced it with my old screen and it worked, but with the new screen, it does not :( do you have any suggestions? Hey I have a Legion Lenovo 7 5000 series and the screen ended up cracked so I bought a screen replacement. Took the work to do it on my own and watching some videos. This video seemed to be the only one that was similar to mine. I removed everything and when I plugged in the replacement lcd screen it doesn’t display and power turns white. It seems like it doesn’t detect any display at all. Put the old one back on doesn’t work again. I was being very careful to not break the cords for display. My problem also is I didn’t turn off the power source inside of the computer. How important is that? Should I do that and try again. I will try to attempt but I’m struggling to have my screen replacement work.
@PC_Monkey2 жыл бұрын
If the power was still on, the LCD could have shorted out. The LCD may then have been damaged. Are the lights the only sign of life when you turn on the computer? No sounds from the HDD or fan? Also, have you tried plugging in to an external monitor to see if the computer is sending out a signal?
@cameroncivish57932 жыл бұрын
@@PC_Monkey Lenovo 7 doesn’t have an hdmi so I bought a usb to hdmi adapter. Gonna test if it works once it comes in the mail. Lenovo is very quiet so I can’t really hear much. The computer was not plugged in at all with the procedure just didn’t open the back and unplug the battery. Tried to get in contact with Lenovo and they can’t stuff like technical over the phone. Theyre saying I have to send it to them but I’m on military base can’t print a mail label.

@@cameroncivish5793 1. Let me know how the external display attempt goes :) 2. Also, if there are no sounds and only some lights to show the computer is on, it may not actually be on. @PC_Monkey4 жыл бұрын
@@kamisensei79 They dont make specific LCD's for specific models unfortunately. You would have to determine the LCD you have and replace it. Your computer takes a 15.6 inch LCD. You have to look on the back of the LCD and see if the connector pin is a 30 or 40 pin connector. Also, note the location on the back of the LCD where the connector is located. Then you can go onto Ebay, Amazon, etc and search for those items in an LCD
