You're funny. 🤣 Here's the thing about Fabian, she's a master at building the story arc from beginning to end. Never assume you know everything about the song just a bit through when she's working. She's has top tier vocal technique and recognized as having a supernatural emotive ability on stage. She has amazing powerful belts, but even more impressive is how rock solid she is singing so so quietly. And she keeps her technique seemless so the singer doesn't take center stage away from the story. She composes & writes (in French, English, Italian and Spanish) most of her own pieces. Like Adagio here. Everyone will be recommending her Je Suis Malad from this concert From Lara With Love which I totally can recommend too - it was the jaw-dropping gateway drug to Fabian for me. But I want to recommend for you her Pedere L'Amour from this concert. It's a cover in Italian. I think there's an upscaled version available. You can hear and see her amazing vocal control from soft speech level to cathedral-wide belts. I think you would like it. Great reaction. Very amusing. 😆 🖖🏾

Lara discovered Dimash when she saw his performance of Adagio on The Singer competition. She sent him a note congratulating him on his performance. She had no idea at the time that she'd been an idol of his as he was growing up. Lara is an international living legend. Her career spans decades. Wait till you watch some of her more emotional performances. She has an incredible set of lungs. What she lacks in range (compared to Floor and Dimash), she makes up in performance level, and in an incredible creativity with her voice to cause an emotional connection between the lyrics and the audience. Whenever you react to her songs, please continue to react to the LIVE version of her songs. That's when you'll get the most out of her.

You may or may not know, but, Adagio was written by Lara Fabian based on a classical piece of music. This is truly her song. Lara also happens to be Dimash's idol. Props to you for admitting you may have just jumped the gun on your initial thoughts. Good job.....I enjoyed your comments.

You MUST listen to her sing Je suis malade (same performance as this one) and Je t'aime-- perhaps her greatest hits. Lara's great strength and the progression she offers to the song. It really lives in the text and suddenly is not demonstrative from the start. The end is all the more explosive. The other performers are sometimes more inclined to be demonstrative of their capacities from the start. Lara, confident, can wait until the very end and exude more subtle emotion at the start.

Jen you should know at this point that you never have to judge a book by its cover... You underestimated Lara before she even started to sing just because you like the Other two artists. Consider that this is recorded at the End of 1999 released in 2000. Not only the power in her voice but her technique and ability to emote is what made her becoming a role model to lots of Singers in so many different styles. Maybe in the States she didn't be recognized as she should have... She is a singer (at least 12 languages) a composer a true artist loved and admired all over the planet. Check her live performances better Than her studio ones. Listen to her with no barriers between her and you and get some tissues for next one. 😉 should be "je suis malade" With subtitles French english from the concert from Lara with love Good on you to change your mind after listening to her i really appreciate that reaction and as always keep real and take Care. She’s a brilliant singer. I prefer Floor’s higher register but Lara Fabian has great definition around the lower notes and amazing power. I think that her version feels different to Floor’s in that there is an emotional sadness - a pain - that she explores in her vocal (you should watch Fabian sing Je Suis Malade to get a stronger sense of her ‘feel’). In Floor’s version, she has a more positive sense of longing, tinged with expectation rather than sadness. At this level, there is no, better or worse, just preferences. I haven’t listened to the Dimash version as I can’t stand his histrionic singing, in the same way that Mariah Carey leaves me cold.

I just don't think Floor's version added anything special to the song, it's was kind of pointless just as all the covers she made until now. I mean, Floor just tries to creatively build her own version of the song if she can't sing it properly (like Stargazer, for example) or if the vocal lines are really easy and flat (like some Nightwish songs with Anette), otherwise she will just aimlessly replicate the song for nothing. Lara is really so good at what she does.

I completely agree. Floor just sounds she is just mechanically walking through the 'steps - going through the actions'. There is nothing there. And you're absolutely right about Dimash as a 'circus act'! I couldn't find the words to describe him and you nailed it. Dimash is a cardboard 'circus act'. Lara Fabian has it all - control, technique, depth, passion and feeling. When Lara sings she is not 'trying' to sing. She is not trying' to sing it right. She become the song and the song becomes her. No one can surpass Lara Fabian.

Jen you were not wrong, you simply expressed an opinion based on what you had seen and heard to that point. Upon being presented additional information you adjusted your opinion. This is what intelligent people do. Lara is amazing. You should also check-out Je Suiss Malade (French), Je T'aime (French} performed in Paris in in 2002, and Caruso (Italian). It doesn't matter what language she sings in, her vocals will touch you.

What's the point of comparing gods in a pantheon like Floor, Lara and Dimash. LOL At that level we are all just in awe.

Me encanta !!! ❤ 👋🇪🇦👋🇪🇦👋🇪🇦👋

Ooh Lara, One of the best singers ever. Not just because of her voice, but her ability to pull you into her world. My favorite songs of her. Caruso, Je Suis Malade (obviously), Broken Vow (chills), Perde L'amour, You're not from here. Can't wait to see your next reaction

This doesn’t deserve any stop but just play, listen in silence, think 100 times and then, if it still exist words… speak!

Hahaha great reaction! Lara is a master at pacing herself and creating a story. I know that in that moment where you said you preferred dimash and floors version it was probably bc in their versions they make it more of a tense moment, whereas lara brings it up a notch but softer and more evenly to how the song started... a legitimate progression that continues to build throughout the whole song in the most evenly way possible. While Floors version is great, I think there are some vocal deliveries that seem somehow sectional, still great tho... and dimash does such a leap that that is why he finishes sooo intensely because at that point there's no turning back.... and only dimash can do that bc he's the master of vocals hahaha but yea, great reaction nonetheless

Thank you for being so honest and open about your reaction to Lara. It would have been easy for you to cut your first comments but I love that you chose not to. Lara's story telling is second to none, and as she builds the story, she also builds the emotion to reach the climax at the end of the song. So looking forward to more Lara reactions. Can I suggest the concert where she honours Barbara Streisand, singing extracts from Barbara's movie Yentl. Spellbinding. Thank you. Phil

You would think that Lara's version would be the standard as she co-wrote the lyrics !
