She is a miracle. She is born in brussel from a father who speaks french and dutch and a sicilian mother. She learn music and piano and sing from her 8 years, work hard in brussel, on classical music and also with a teacher from the "Opera Royal de la Monnaie", one of the best Opera in Europe. So when she was a little girl in her family to be understand, she had to speak italian, french, dutch, english and spannish or portugues with an other from spain i think. They come from every where in Europe an no one speak the same language. So she sings in 9 languages without accent. She had heared the musicality of all that languages soon. In french she is able to speak french like a real parisian, or with typical brussel's or quebec's accents. In belgium, in France and Canada, she had had a lot of great succes and worked with stars like johny halliday (go to hear on youtube "Requiem pour un fou" in stade de France). I am admirative because i am belgian, like lara. Because I live in Paris, and i have worked in quebec where she began to sing in Canada. Thete she is a star like Celine Dion...because a part of my family is russian from moscow, i have follow lara's performances, in russia, Paris Montreal, Brussel...She is one of the best performer of all time. On stage... in italian, french, russian... a technical perfection, a real emotionnal experience...she builds perfect harmony, an kind of egregore, a special link with people...she touches the soul with her voice... and you are transported. This is not only song...opera...acting...it is just not from here. She is a little bit witch i think...in frech we say "un envoûtement"...a spell.

This was the 1st song I heard Lara sing & she had me straight off! I've heard male opera singers perform this song, including Pavarotti, but her version is by far the best for me. The song is about the great Caruso, opera singer, on his death bed telling his much younger wife how much he loved her.

I enjoy seeing reactions to this song by Lara Fabian whom I just discovered myself. Yes, the lyrics are in Italian written by Lucio Dalla upon a trip he made. He was told that he stayed in the same room that (Enrico) Caruso stayed in before his death. That prompted this beautiful haunting song. I think everythying about this song is perfection; the lyrics, the background and the singing, of course! You should listen to it with the English subtitles. It will enhance your understanding even more. Thanks for sharing!

Please forgive me but I can't handle the english language very well. However Caruso Is a a song of Lucio Dalla an italian artist. There is a story behind this Song. One day Lucio Dalla broke is boat in front of Gulf of Sorrento. I Asked a friend for help and the friend was the owner of the hotel (Grand Hotel Excelsior Victoria) where Caruso (famous tenor of the past) died. The friend gave to Lucio the Caruso's room. At the same time chance willed that the barman of the restaurant "La Scogliera" tale to Lucio Dalla that Caruso had fallen in love with an unrequited love for a young girl to which he gave singing lessons. Shortly after, Caruso died. In his room Lucio found the piano that belonged to Caruso and inspired by this story began to play a few notes. A little later the song was ready.

Here’s the English translation; Here where the sea shines, And the wind blows strong On an old terrace In front of the Gulf of Surriento A man hugs a girl, After she cries Then he clears his throat, And starts to sing again. I love you very much Oh so very much, you know It’s now a chain That melts the blood inside our veins, you know He saw the lights in the middle of the sea, He thought of the nights there in America But it was only the fishing lights In the white wake of a propeller He felt the pain in the music, He got up from the piano But when he saw the moon come out from behind a cloud Even death seemed sweeter to him He looked the girl in the eyes, Those eyes as green as the sea Then suddenly a tear fell, And he thought he was drowning I love you very much Oh so very much, you know It’s now a chain That melts the blood inside our veins, you know The power of opera, Where every drama is a fake With a little make-up and facial expressions You can become someone else But two eyes that look at you So close and true Make you forget the words, They confuse thoughts So everything becomes small, Even the nights there in America You turn around and see your life Like the wake of a propeller But yes, it’s life that ends, But he didn’t think much about it On the contrary, he already felt happy, And his song began again I love you very much Oh so very much, you know It’s now a chain That melts the blood inside our veins, you know

Sorry am répète . I appreciate . Laura. And for me, she's a real Diva even more than Celine Dion. it's a shame because she came to immigrate. Here in Quebec and began to become known at the same time as Céline except in the United States. she sang I love you. and this song has been around since its very beginnings. And then her. resumed . I AM SICK . a cover of the French singer SERGE LAMA. She is the idol of. Dimash who took over SOS FROM A TERRIAN IN DISTRESS. By LUC PLAMONDON who is a pure born here in Quebec. and created with a French friend MICHEL BERGER DE FRANCE. STARMANIA Following a dispute, they had to close STARMANIA. Which lasted more than 14 years. it was a rock opera sung in French. to come back to the beautiful Lara she speaks 4 languages and 12 languages which she sings with a natural emotion she has the ability to put herself in the skin of the character she sings. I think she deserves to be known if not more than Celine Dion who sings born. It started the same year. I also love Céline but what I find unfortunate and even selfish on her part. Years ago, Lara dreamed of singing with her, she met and Celine, never invited her to one of her shows. Lara even wrote to Céline who never answered her. and it is beautiful and well received, this letter that Céline reads in front of her fans on TV. why do this to him. Is she afraid of losing her place as a diva? That's what I believe. fortunately all of Quebec and Europe adore her, she is also Dimash's favorite singer, with whom she sings. even Igor Crutov. Who wrote her very beautiful songs for her. She is adored by Russians and Kasackstan. Thank you for your comments on Lara who is a good and simple woman. PS sorry for having put a lot of words. 🤘♥️👍

1999, "From Lara With Love", recorded in Montreal, aired on PBS in the U.S. She was just a couple weeks short of her 30th birthday. Just look for anything from this concert, it is truly a masterpiece. Just some, Adagio, You're Not From Here, Broken Vow, Perdere L'amore, and Je Suis Malade which may be the most emotional performance ever done. There are videos with subtitles for all the songs sung in different languages, French, Italian, Spanish. Lara is incomparable. Also look for her performance of "Papa Can You Hear Me/Piece of Sky". Song from the Barbra Streisand movie, "Yentl". Incredibly difficult to sing live and Lara just kills it. Besides her technical perfection, her ability to convey and evoke emotion is unsurpassed. And it certainly doesn't hurt that she's breathtakingly, stunningly beautiful. The total package and then some.

Good reaction my friend...Lara is the best female singer and performer of the world...She is a lyric soprano with a great vocal range and incredible breath control, which is one of the things that Dimash admires the most about Lara...She speaks 5 languages and sings like in 12 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see on KZbin covers of her songs made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Floor Jansen, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) You are Not From Here (Singing in English)...2) Adagio (Singing in English)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)... 5) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...6) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....7) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....Thank you.

Hello, very good reaction and I subscribed, hoping to see more Lara on your channel. Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... We can debate her rank in this list (in my personal view she tops theses) but she is there. There are also a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing without mic in venus with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: - she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total - she is an amazing song writer and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-compose the music with the composer. - she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none - she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. Shenow leaves in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 if I remember well (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). in 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the 2 songs your reviewed are from this concert. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is also a top star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months. Now US is rediscovering Lara, as she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: they are all coming from Europe, Asia or Latin america. She is Dimash's idol: he covered many of her songs (that she wrote and performed originally). Out of my mind I can list Adagio, Know, Love of tired swans, Love is like a dream. She wrote the lyrics of his song Your Love. And they performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina. This is a song that she wrote with Igor Krutoy and performed initially with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs: - Floor Jansen (Adagio) - Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie) - Morissette Amon (Broken Vow) - Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace) - Cakra Khan (Broken Vow) - Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow) ..... Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara. If you explore more, you will soon be hooked, I'm sure.

This performance is from a tv concert recorded in Montreal in 1999. She was under Sony music and was promoting her first english album. She had a bit of success in the US with I will love again but she didn't really make it big there because of conflicts with Sony (they wanted to change who she is as an artist) and a complicated personal life. I think she's too authentic for the US industry anyway. As you want more informations about her : She was born in Belgium from a flemish dad and an Italian mother. She spent the first few years of her life in Sicily, then returned to Belgium where she studied classical singing, piano, composition and interpretation from her 8 to 18 at the Conservatory of Brussels. At 19, she immigrated to Quebec where she started her career and became very popular. In 1997, she became huge in Europe, especially in France and Belgium with the release of her album Pure, which became the second best selling female album in France and the best selling one by a female songwriter/producer. She's also a composer and she's fluent in 4 languages (french, italian, spanish, english). Lara is the best selling belgian artist of all time, having sold 20M albums. She's 52 now and she's a very inspirational woman. I know you reacted to a lot of Dimash, she's his idol and she collaborated with Igor Krutoy many times since 2006...12 years ago, they wrote the concept album Mademoiselle Zhivago together : a masterpiece. I would suggest you to react to performances from the From Lara with love concert (You're not from here, Broken Vow, Adagio...it will blow your mind) or her duet with Johnny Hallyday at the Stade de France in 1998, which is considered as one of the most legendary french performance and was a big moment in her career.

The truth is... She's too good for the machine that runs the music business in the US. She is a true artist and it's good she has not been tainted by the industry. There's nobody who can touch her and they know it, so they don't want all of their lesser performers to cost them money.

I recommend a Spanish singer. Her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón". She is a very versatile singer who sings different styles of music. With incredible melismas and a very personal voice. Greetings

Just sharing, in case sir you were planning to react to her performing the song "Adagio". Well the most requested performance of that song (and a lot have reacted to already) is from the same concert (in Montreal). The beauty of that performance has something to do with her voice and the musical instruments that blended and enhanced the intensity of the song/performance. While the other less popular although a lot prefer this performance including myself is the acoustic piano/ voice arrangement, because in this version, her voice alone carried the song/performance, and the ending part seems to be more vocally intense than the Montreal version. The power, dynamics and beauty (vocal qualities) of her voice is/are the standout in this version. As in RAW. and its just really captivating and mesmerizing. But in order to appreciate this version you need to watch/listen to the other versions first like studio/LP or MTV. as to make room for comparison Here is the link to her acoustic version (Live at the Edison Awards, Netherlands 2000) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d56QYnuMidyiiaM just in case you plan to react to this version. or you just like to compare the different arrangements of the song

1:13 - 1:15 "French"?! What? Lol One needn't be all that worldly nor a master of tongues to recognize that Lara was speaking Italian just before transitioning back to English. French and Italian while certainly members in good standing of the Indo-European model and its sub-group of Italic/Romance languages, remain clearly distinct from one another and so it's difficult to understand how someone unless they are leading a completely cloistered existence would not have at minimum some acquaintance with their vocal characteristics; sounds, song, rhythms, etc

Ah, yes, let’s mock and shame someone for not knowing Romance languages or being able to recognise which is which. We all have our talents and abilities. This young man is provably no older than 24. How worldly and educated were most of us at that age? It depends entirely on where and how you spend your youth. Give him time, I’m betting he’ll learn to recognise different languages. You, on the other hand, may need some time yourself - to learn grace and charity.

Link to HQ version w. Eng + Italian subs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIGVfKGCmtKHbZo Macadamia who created the HQ version also has HQ versions of the other songs from the same amazing concert. Subs provided by Macadamia and me. EDIT: The concert 'From Lara With Love' sadly only exists on VHS and non-official DVD support (NTSC, interlaced). It has never been remastered. So Macademia's video restoration work on these really is great.
