The song is about the great Caruso the very famous opera singer. As a senior man who knew he didn’t have much time left he was telling his love who was a beautiful woman many years younger than him of his deep love for her. One interesting this I'd like to add is that the song Caruso was written in a mixture of the Neapolitan Italian dialect and standard Italian. There are many terms in the lyrics that are only used in Southern Italy, particularly Napoli. Caruso was born and brought up in Napoli but in later life he fell in love with Sorrento and it was there that he passed away, in a hotel room overlooking Sorrento bay. The songwriter stayed in the same room years later and was inspired to write this song out of respect for the great singer.

Lara is a lyric soprano, with a signing range of 4.1 octaves .From the age 8-18, for 10 years as a young girl she was trained at the famous Brussel Conservatory of Music also learning piano , composing music writing songs. . Today, at age 54 she still do vocalize many hours a week, a real pro. Simply said, she is the full package. David Foster, Phil Collins, Igor Krutoy and many other famous artist have said that she is the best female signer of this century, i agree with them

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Italian is her first native language. Her husband is also sicilian. She also has been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.

@@paulschmehl2124 It's not a pronunciation that easily falls off of an English speaking tongue. Sometimes people from other countries aren't very understanding or forgiving of that. Maybe Lar (as in Larson)+ruh is an easier way for us to think of it. But just do your best and don't take the criticism to heart too much.
